I have!  I hit the jackpot recently with my book choices.  Just some of the good things I've read:

Twelve Years a Slave - Solomon Northup (Glad I stuck with it, even if the end made me mad).

The Returned - Jason Mott

Rebecca - Adam J. Nikolai

I'm reading the midwife series by Jennifer Worth, upon which the PBS series, "Call the Midwife" is based. There are three, "The Midwife," "Shadows of the Workhouse," and "Farewell to the East End." The TV show is pretty faithful to the books.

Whitethorn by Courtney Bryce. It is about a white English boy growing up in an orphanage filled with mainly German Boers just before WW2. It is a long book (I'd guess around 800 pages hardback) but worth the time especially for those who don't know a lot of South African history during that time.

I just finished "John Dies at the End" and it was interesting....... I don't really know how to react to it. It is kinda like crazy intense wacky sci fi horror stuff being thrown at you the entire book with some comedy thrown in. I did watch the movie after I read the book and did not really do it justice since they tried to cut too much out and combine two stories that kinda are separate stories in the same book. I did go ahead and order the sequel "This book is filled with spiders" because I heard it was about zombies and I love some zombie Apocalypse.

I am currently reading another Phillipa Gregory book about the Cousins war "The White Princess" and it is really good. I adore her cousins wars books. Love. Watched the mini series about them and it was amazing. Did the books justice.

hmm before that I read this book I found in a thrift shop about the fundamentalist Mormons kinda like the HBO show "Big Love". It was very interesting. Just one girl telling about how she was a child bride and how she was raised and stuff. I think the show was actually somewhat based on that book and the inside info she put out about fundamentalist mormons. Can't remember the title but the girl's name is Elissa Wall.

Also got "Dr. Sleep" waiting to be read and some Dean Koontz paperbooks for the pool this summer and some Peter Straub.

I read "Pen Pal" which is a creepy pasta type book that was pretty cool. It was not well written so if you want well written books with no mistakes I would say avoid it, but if you just want a creepy story then you might enjoy it.

Also read "Joyland" by Stephen King and I really enjoyed it. Love carnivals.

I just listened to "Track of the Cat" by Nevada Barr on CD. The main character is Anna Pigeon, a park ranger. It's the first in a series of mysteries set in national parks. It's very interesting not only for the murder but for her vivid descriptions of the area.

Does John actually die at the end?

I'm not a huge fan of the Cousins' War series, although I recently bought The Kingmaker's Daughter.  I think it's because The Red Queen was so boring that it's colored my opinion, even though I liked #1 and #3.

Doctor Sleep is really good!

I didn't think I'd like a Kindle, but my mom upgraded to the Fire and gave me her old K3 with keyboard.  I am in LOVE!  Being able to carry a small library around in my purse is awesome, plus because we're Prime members, I get to borrow a book every month and get a free unreleased ebook.

I'm going to miss Prime after PM graduates, but we won't get the student price anymore and we can't justify paying double since he won't be ordering books all the time.
