for my green beans.  We planted cucumbers, carrots, beets, spring onions, radishes, pumpkins, zuchinni, tomatoes, and trying brussel sprouts !

My asparagus is in it's third year and thus ready to harvest and is doing great, planning to cut it this weekend for grilling along with some steaks.

My daughter was helping me and it was hilarious as we tried to fill the wall-o-waters, and then add IN this darn WY wind, we were drenched~!

We also found some chocolate mint we added in our mint bed along with the peppermint, spearmint and sweet mint.  It smells fabulous!

Does anyone else garden here?

I have a large rose bed, and herbs. I am going to plant some loofa gourds tonight, if I remember to pick up some potting soil after work.

No garden here. Back yard is too shady on one side, and too close to the sidewalk/street on the other. And I don't really feel like working that hard just to feed the stray cat, rabbit and groundhogs.

The mint bed sounds fabulous!

I've tomatoes, mint and basil plus a fern, rose bush and jade plant on my balcony. I have to keep my growing stuff small and concentrated in one area, on top of my outdoor table which has a metal cage over the plants. Squirrels are a problem here in the summer, they get soooo thirsty that they go for any plants with moisture. Little bastards love to scoop out the innards of tomatoes and leave the shriveled bits behind.

I had to put my potted basil plant up on a table because one of the dogs keeps eating it! i wouldn't mind if she nibbled, but she keeps pulling at it!

Congratulations on the asparagus! We have a bed too and it is great to just run out and pick it for dinner. We are also growing a bunch of heirloom tomatoes, carrots, peppers, and various squash and melons. I have a bed of fancy petunias that I hope the moles stay out of, but we'll see about that.

before we got the higher fence up the deer ate my veggies, they hollowed out the pumpkins leaving just the outsides darn things.

we do have birds and field mice who love my strawberries, so we have a net over the top and traps inside.

We put three of those plastic owls on the posts around the garden and it has really helped keeping birds etc away. One hoots and moves its head at motion, so we had to move that to an outer post as it was driving my puppies crazy, when they walked by it scared them! LOL
