we are eating fresh asparagus, it needs to be cut daily~!~!  it was a three year wait from time we planted the roots, but so darn worth it.  yummmm

Starwberries are doing good too, lots of tiny berries and tons of blooms

Our poratoes are growing up a storm too, all in all the garden is thriving!  I can't wait to eat a fresh tomato!!

I want fresh tomatoes and strawberries, too. Fortunately, there's a farm market just down the street from where I work. Sadly, they're not in season yet. Strawberry season will probably be about 3 days if it's anything like last year. :(

A greenhouse sounds fantastic!

I have never had asparagus - does it taste like anything else? What's the best way to cook it?

It's hard to describe the taste of asparagus. I always steam mine.

That's a nice long season. You must live where it doesn't get extremely hot.  We are looking at a few more days for ours to start ripening, but I don't think ours like to produce much in August.

We live in NE Wyoming, and no not too hot, but can snow late and early...burr

I always roast or grill our asparagus.

In oven I place in baking pan and spray with butter pam, or you can use butter, and then season with garlic powder or other seasonings and cover pan with foil and put in oven for 15-20 minutes and it is done! or I put on wooden shish-k-bob sticks or my metal ones and and season and grill them...delicious!!! esp with grilled thick sliced zuchinni and thick sliced sweet onions and green peppers...I can taste them now!
