Such a charming shower invitation!

I just feel so...welcomed and wanted.

Tuesday night, I popped on to FB to do some chatting. I had a message from my early elementary school BFF. The entire message was just two phone photos of the invitation to her baby shower. No accompanying text, just the pictures. Also, it's this Sunday. Gee...she must really want my presence. Or perhaps presents.

I'm not going.

Would it be wrong to send her a photo of an awesome present?

Nope I would not go either.

Send me a proper invitation in the mail or at least invite me 2 weeks in advance and then I will consider it.

That is tacky. I realize that some people do invitations for casual events through facebook, but even then a little advance notice and something a little more personal is called for. I wouldn't go either. Can you write "Sorry. I'm busy that day" and take a picture of that to send back? Just kidding - that wouldn't be very nice.

I am okay with facebook event invites using the event invite thing fb has. I host more casual get togethers like playdates or a birthday dinner for someone set up through the fb event invites. But that is not the same as just sending someone a picture of a real invite. All that says is I was too cheap to buy enough invites so you don't warrant being good enough for the few invites I did pay for.

This. I wouldn't really mind an email or a Facebook invitation. But a photo of the invitation the A list guests got? No way. If you run out of invites, get some card stock at Staples and print some more out!

Or even just a personal message!  All she'd have had to do was say, "Hey, Kristen, sorry I didn't invite you sooner, but my baby shower is Sunday at 1.  I'd love it if you could come!"  I probably would not have gone, simply because I didn't want to make a 110-mile round-trip, but I'd have probably been willing to send a gift.
