From what I've been told - your recorded voice is what other people hear.
What you hear is reserved only for you.

Other people hear what came out of the recording. I don't think anyone likes how they sound when they hear a recording for the first time.

I think I sound like a little girl when I hear my voice. However, I have been told MANY times that I have a very sexy and professional voice. How the 2 work together, I am not sure. I have been offered to be flown all over because of my voice. I don't get it.

ugh, noooooo, I think I sound like a kid in recordings. No wonder when I "hear" high pitched (not recording), others think I a squeaking.

I have a very deep voice for a women so I really hate the way I sound. I am called sir way to often for my liking..lol

ok, so given how many of us hate our recorded voices and that is how we sound to each other IRL, how on earth do we tolerate how others sound?

I think it's because we just don't hear our selves that way so it's really different when we hear it recorded. To other people we always sound this way.

My Dad also hates how he sounds, it's hilarious because he listened to him once made a face and asked do I REALLY sound like that?! IUGH LOL

Nobody I know likes how their recorded voice sounds. I know I don't like mine, though I've been told I have a nice voice, sound-wise, and good dictation. Maybe dictation isn't the right word, though I can't remember the one that was used.

I also never truly realize how quickly I speak until I hear myself on a recording.

I don't understand why I sound so horrible on a recording when my voice is identical to my daughters voices and their voices sound lovely to me.

It would seem that I would cringe at the sounds of their voices as well but I don't. It's weird.

I think I sound ridiculous, but more than a few people have actually told me I should consider being a phone sex operator. I don't quite get what makes them think my voice sounds like a turn on, but apparently it is.

I've been told this in person and over Ventrillo when I raid with random people I don't know. The WoW thing is a little weird. I actually have a random following of people who ask me to raid so I can be raid leader and they can listen to me talk. It's all very strange and I don't get it. And I don't think it's simply because I'm a female gamer either otherwise I think the other female gamers I know would get the same reaction. Who knew that saying something like "Standard dragon rules apply" would be such a turn on?
