A craving impossible to get...

So you know how I'm not in the US, last time I was there we went to this place called Pepper Mill and had the most amazing cajun fries.

Turns out that I was thinking about fries this morning and those came up as the best fries I ever had, so now I'm craving them BADLY and I can't get them.

So what cravings do you have or had that were difficult to get?

I may need to ship you some seasoning if you can't find any

I'm going on a quest to find it! And I'm even thinking of telling my mom about it so she can go to HEB to look for it, we don't have HEB.

I always find it funny that HEB is in Mexico but only in Texas in the US.

I didn't know you only had in Texas...

We only have them in the most northern states. I'm in a more central state.

Bun in the oven indeed!

I think this child likes starch, I've also been craving a loaded baked potato.

Congratulations Des!

The only pregnancy craving I can remember not being able to fill was waffles and eggrolls. I wanted a place that served them both and couldn't find one.

Start ordering chicken salt and other fry add-ons and see if you can combine them into the ultimate fry sprinkle. You might have to invest in a deep fat fryer too. This pregnancy could get very expensive.

Ugh. When I was pregnant with DD, I just wanted an In-N-Out Burger hamburger. SO BADLY. That one sucked.

If that place was in West Chester, PA, they use either a regular blackened seasoning or Old Bay Blackened seasoning.

Blackened seasoning is pretty easy to make yourself too.

1 1/2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon ground dried thyme
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon dried basil
1 teaspoon dried oregano

I usually tweak to get my preferences.

JLBear I have a question! How did you know about the place I was talking about?
And how do you know about the seasoning? I was so excited about it yesterday that I forgot to ask you.

Well, power of deduction. You were just in Philly not too long ago. I would have made the meet but I was away on vacation myself. So I googled it.

Add that to every other restaurant that has those kind of fries.

Sorry - forgot to add that every other restaurant around here that has those kind of fries (Cajun) uses blackened seasoning on them. Crab fries uses Old Bay.

If that does not work, let me know, I can call them and ask what they use.
