Rules

One person is It. It comes up with a word. The other people try to guess the word. Whoever guesses the word, becomes It.


1. It comes up with a word and reveals the first letter of that word.
2. To guess, ask It if the word is a certain word. The word that you ask about must include all revealed letters in their revealed order. For example: If the first revealed letter is "G," you can only guess words that begin with "G" such as "giant," "godzilla," or "gopher."
3. You do not have to guess directly, that is, instead of asking "Is it 'gopher'?" you can ask "Is it a small animal that lives underground?"
4. It answers in this format: if the question is "Is it a giant?" the answer would be "No, it isn't a giant." If the question is "Is it a small animal that lives underground?" It must answer confirming that it isn't a word that fits that description and matches all of the revealed letters even if that wasn't the word intended.
5. If you guess a word indirectly, as in the gopher example, and another guesser thinks they know what you mean, they post "contact with [player name here]." If It is stumped or doesn't come up with a sufficient answer for 72 hours or gives up, then the asker and all players who made "contact" with the asker PM It with the word they were thinking of (we're going off of honor that the guessers won't PM each other). If two or more of the guesses that were sent by PM are the same, the next letter in the word is revealed.
6. If It ever answers "yes," then the person It answered becomes It. For example, if the word is "go" and someone asks "Is it a game?" then unless It can come up with the name of a different game that begins with "G," It must answer "yes" and the person who asked if the word was "game" becomes It.
7. The word that It comes up with is not allowed to be a proper noun.

Bah! This is a game they play on my other site but I think the code on that site is different than here because I cant't copy the text. Anyway, I haven't played but it looks like fun so I'll try to copy the rules and see if we can play it here.

No it's not mustard

But remember... when you guess, you don't have to guess the actual -thing- You can guess a category. Say for instance you could have said

Is it edible?

Or even better

Is it a condiment?

Since there is more than one condiment that starts with M then someone else could have requested contact. If that person guessed mustard I'd have had to reveal another letter.
If they guessed mayo I wouldn't.

So, from what I understand there are two ways to get another letter revealed. One is to make a guess and another person guesses the same thing you guess. --Remember to PM me not each other--

The other way is to make a guess in a category and stump me.

For example: If you had said

Is it a style of achitecture?

And I couldn't think of any style of architecture that begins with M I'd have to reveal the next letter.

If you asked, is it a condiment? I don't say yes. I say "it's not mayo" It gets harder and more fun the more letters that are revealed because all your guesses and all my answers have to contain the revealed letters. So if MU have been revealed and you ask Is it a condiment? In order to respond It's not ...... I have to know another condiment that starts with MU

Trying to understand the rules.

So..let's pretend it IS mustard. Kapper says "is it a condiment?". You (It) have to respond with a yes? What happens at that point?

Can you ask for contact with anyone at any point they ask an indirect question, as in regardless of if you respond with yes or no?

If someone says "contact with Kapper", they would then pm you (It) with the guess of "mayo" or "mustard" or whatever. And Kapper would also pm you (It) with the word she was thinking of? If they are the same, then you reveal a letter? If they are not the same, nothing happens?

right. If you ask me is it a condiment I say. It's not mayo it could still be mustard. If you ask 'is it a living thing?' I can say 'it's not' ANY living thing as long as it starts with the letters that have been revealed. Let's say MER had been revealed and you asked is it a living thing. I could say It's not a MERchant

you don't wait. If I answer kali's uestion you can't request contact because you'd already know what her guess was. So now if she s ubmits the same answer as you, i reveal another letter. Or I say yes it is .... f you guess different answers I'll list which ones it's NOT.

Contact should be made if they think they are guessing the same word you are guessing. If two people guess the same, I'll reveal another letter. I'm waiting for a 2nd pm on the chili question.

Ok, no one needs

On this one because I'm stumped. The only well known submarine sandwhich shops I know are Subway, Quiznos, ToGo's and one other that is escaping me right now but I know it doesn't start with an M so pm me the answer and I'll reveal another letter.

After all this wouldn't it be funny if I forgot what the word was LOL. Don't worry, I didn't but didn't kapper do that in one game?

The easiest way I can think to describe the rules is
1 ask me a question I can't think of an answer to or
2 two people guess the same answer

Each of those will reveal another letter until you can guess the word.
Right now I'm waiting for the answer to the sub shop question. You don't have to pm it. I'm stumped.
