I WISH! I've never seen that. It would be awesome!
Our town does have a small Christmas festival one night in December. There is a parade and I believe Santa makes an appearance. They had 2 reindeer for people to touch last year. The kids were so impressed! All the stores stay open and there are free treats (cookies, popcorn, ect.) and hot cocoa. A great time is had by all!

Even as a little kid living in a different state and now firetrucks come through the neighborhoods lights flashing and sirens blaring with Santa on the hook-and-ladder truck giving out candy canes. I love it!!! He just came by Hi SANTA!!!!
We have a Winterfest with a nighttime parade with Santa at the end, and some of the fire stations have 'breakfast with Santa' parties. The trucks going through the neighborhoods sound like a lot of fun, too.
The thing with Santa on the firetrucks is you have no idea when it is going to happen...I guess maybe it is on their web page but I was surprised today to see them...I thought our whole street was burning down. We don't really have a town center, we live in a tiny town.
No, but our church has started holding an annual Dinner with Santa event. I just got home from it, actually. The kids love it, and so do the parents because they get to visit Santa and take all the pictures they want for free. They pay for dinner, of course, but if all someone wants is to see Santa, that's fine.

Santa rides in a fire truck in our Christmas parade and shows up at one of the banks for the children as part of the living windows display downtown, but it's all scheduled. Random Santa sightings would be awesome.
