I've also had some issues with the moderator side of things. If you would please report any issues you're having on this thread, that would be very appreciated. Even if it's already a known issue, I'd like to see how widespread it is.
I did find that by refreshing my page manually, my missing posts appeared, so it may be an ActiveBoard issue which is out of my hands.
Thank you for your patience!

If click on a thread that is bolded, read the new posts, and go back to the main page it is still bolded as if there are new posts. It appears to be an activeboard issue from my point of view. I will say I am a little say I'm not getting the phantom PMs though.
I mentioned this on the Mafia thread, but I am having the problem where on some threads I am logged in and on others I am logged out. I also could not see my latest posts until refreshing the page. When I go back to the main page I don't seem to see all the latest posts though...
It's an Activeboard issue, They are adding a new feature... and as everyone knows when Activeboard "improves" things, there's a period where everything gets "buggy"

Any time you go into the advanced editor, it will start saving drafts for you... just in case your computer crashes or you accidentally close the window or back out of the reply you are writing.
It's a nice enought feature (I guess).
(If you go into the advanced editor and type for a minute or two, and pay very close attention you can see it say "draft saved" in the lower right corner BELOW the text window.)

Basically what Richard said. This should be straightened out in about a week. For more info, read here.

Not sure if this is related to the problems from before but I've tried sending three PM's and everyone has had an error msg saying it couldn't go through because the msg was too short.
?????
The messages weren't short. When have I ever written a short message LOL

DQM, are you attempting this from your Nook?

My apologies for not responding sooner. My attention was occupied elsewhere.
Unfortunately that's an issue that an Admin will have to address (in this case Aardvark). PBJ may have some insight as well, as he's an Admin on another Activeboard forum.

Appearantly though I can't send PM's from my nook. I don't know if that's fixable but I'm less and less on a real computer anymore.
I was afraid of this. The way the Nook is set up, you have to take the following steps each time you want to send a PM or quote someone. (Droid works the same way.)
1. Open the browser.
2. Click the Menu button.
3. Go to "More Options."
4. Select "Settings."
(4½. Droid users, click "Privacy & Security." I forget whether Nook has that.)
5. Click "Clear Cache."
6. Click "OK" to the Are You Sure? message that appears.
Again, you have to do this every.single.time that you want to send a PM.

DQM, did you try from the HTML tag instead of the visual one for your PM? I seem to remember you having an issue posting when you first joined and that was how you got around it.

Nope that wasn't it either. Plus the error message makes no sense. Now it says:
There was an error. Your message was too short. Try making your message longer or shortening it if it was already quite long.
????
That's because nothing is registering. The system isn't accepting what you typed, because it's trying to use the cached version (which could well also be empty).
The only solution is to clear the cache, with the method listed a few posts ago. This isn't something aardvark can change.
ETA: Meaning no offense to the great and blingy.

I wasn't kidding when I said you lost me at open browser.
The only 'browser' is the "web" button and tapping that does not take me to a menu, more options or settings.
I can go directly to settings. Technically it's "search settings" but once there it doesn't give me the option to clear cache.
Unless I'm looking in the wrong place.
From a B&N discussion page on the Nook...
Q: Is it possible to clear the cache on apps and web browser?
A: For the browser, click the menu button in the upper right corner then go to more options and then to settings. Scroll down and you will see the option to clear cache.. As far as apps go some will have a setting and if it does it should also be located within the app's settings menu..

Richard and J you guys are a couple of stand up dudes. Thanks for your trouble shooting help. We still haven't figured out the solution yet but you guys are aces for even trying so thanks again.
J, I recieved your PM and attempted to send a reply. No go. Bummer. So I guess the work around isn't just for creating one it's for responding to one as well. NP, as soon as I figure it out, I'm willing to jump through a few hoops for the convenience of not being tied to a desk to play with my pocket friends.
Did that sound weird to anyone else? I resolve not to call you guys my pocket friends ever again. You're welcome. :)
Step 1. Open the browser
:( I'm forced to skip that step. It's not a thing on my nook.
Step 2.
I am however familiarvwith settings. It's not at the top but that's not important. I know how to get there.
Step 3.
Again, not a thing. There's no menu.
Step 4.
No browser.
Step 5.
When I go to security there are two dimmed buttons. They are both disabled and I can figure out how to 'undisable' them. The two buttons are -browser- (no wonder I can't effing find it. It's been disabled) and -social- (whatever that is)
Step 6. Appearantly I never got that far.
I don't know the diff between an HD and a Tablet but I have the latter.
The thing is I'm pretty sure that I've sent PMs from my nook before. *scratching head* At least I think I have. I don't get why it stopped working.
If you can't open the browser, how are you logging onto here?
When you say open the browser what are you asking me to do? When you say that I think you mean click on IE, Safari, AOL, FireFox or Chrome or something.
That's not a *thing* on my nook.
When I want to go online I tap the online button. Is that considered a browser? If so it's a browser with no pull down menu. The rest of the stuff you mentioned isn't there.
I mean some of it is but just not the way you're saying.
I tap the online button which is a little globe and it takes me to Google. While there I can type in an address to anywhere I want to go.
Oh wait! There is a pull down menu. Much easier to find when I'm on my computer and searching my nook than when I'm on my nook trying to read your directions and look around at the same time *sheepish grin*
Ok I've found a page that says "Browswer Mode" I'm currently in Tablet Browser Mode which I fear is why I can't understand your instructions. I'm switching to Desktop Browser Mode to see if it makes a diff.
Yep! Found it!
Locally cached content and databases will be deleted.
Ok I'm going to post this, log off, log on from my nook and then attempt a PM.
