Last night a big snow storm was predicted for Missouri. The schools were called off last night as a preventative measure. So like a dummy I headed in to work this morning, since it wasn't snowing THEN. It began to fall when I was about half way there. About the time I got to work, the roads were so bad I had to call my husband to come get me. The way home was pretty scary with near white out conditions and my husband alternating between scolding me for not taking his advice to use a vacation day and yelling, "Dammit, I can't even see the road!" It is so nasty out that the outdoor dog decided he should spend the day inside.
Once we got home, I put some split pea soup in the crockpot and did a few things around the house. It's been great. I may stay home tommorow too.
I'm glad you made it home safe. No snow here. When I was a kid, the deciding factor in whether school was cancelled due to snow was if the superintendent's dog would go out. If he refused, we stayed home. That dog was very brave.
I'm just over the edge in KS and we got hammered by the same storm, we had a foot! I wish DS was old enough to play outside in it -- 6m is a little young! We're supposed to get another 12-18 inches today/tomorrow. Ugh.
Marie's storm moved right over from Kansas to Mid-Missouri. Good thing I'm maxed out on vacation at work, because I am heeding MO-DOT's travel advisory today. This may be the perfect day to do taxes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for those of you who do have to get out in it today!
Well we got another foot today, with a bit more coming tonight/tomorrow. DH went into work late - out of a 4 story building there were maybe 15 people there. Stay safe ES! When this crap freezes tonight its going to be "slicker than snot" as my father would say.
