I tried starting it. I could only get to 23 pages before I had to put it down from boredom. I usually love Dan Browns books.
I'm reading Little Girl Lost by Drew Barrymore, No Easy Day about the killing of Osama Bin Laden by Mark Owen and Kevin Maurer, and The PostCard Killers by James Patterson.
I started The Devil in Pew Number Seven yesterday. It's a nonfiction account of a man who was determined to control the church he attended. It might freak me out a little too much, but I really want to read it.

Since 7/2 I've read "Sons and Lovers," "The Call of the Wild," "The Secret Garden," "The Little Princess," and started "Tess of the D'Urbevilles" until I remembered how utterly depressing it is. They are all in a collection on my nook, but I've finished them all and may need to download another. Light reading helps pass time and keeps me awake during night feedings with my newborn. I may start "The Scarlet Pimpernel" tonight; it's one of my favorites.
I love Frances Hodgeson Burnett! I have The Secret Garden, The Little Princess, and Little Lord Fauntleroy somewhere. It was in my mom's spare room, so who knows when I'll find it again.
I finished The Devil in Pew Number Seven. It was very powerful and very moving. At one point, I thought I was going to have to put it down and leave it unfinished, but what I feared did not come to pass.
I am going to start either Kathy Reichs' Grave Secrets or The Everything Guide to Parenting a Child with Special Needs.

Reading also helped me stay awake during night feedings/pumping! I just downloaded "The Secret Garden" and "The Little Princess" I've seen the movies but I'd love to read the books. Also "The Little Princess" made me cry, the scene where she finds her dad and he doesn't recognize her and pushes her away broke my heart.
I also just downloaded "Wool" they have a What are you reading thread on BabyCenter and I saw that one highly recommended, and it's free for kindle so I'm going to read it. I'll come back to report.

This sounds so interesting-I am intrigued.
I am reading the true crime book Fatal Vision now.
Thanks, Desdenova! I find that I read a lot more these nights while my boy clusterfeeds than I can during the day when his big sisters are running amok.
The screenwriters for the Shirley Temple version of "The Little Princess" took a few liberties with the story, but it's still one of my favories anyway.
Since last posting, I've added "Little Men," "Jo's Boys," "O Pioneers," "My Antonia," and "The Scarlet Pimpernel." I think the only books left in the collection I have that I haven't read recently are the first three Anne of Green Gables. I prefer the Emily series and the Pat books to Anne, but don't have them digitally, so Anne it is! "There she weaves by night and day; A magic web of colors gay..."
I really enjoyed the "Scarlet Pimpernel." I have to admit, though, I read it mainly because of Daffy Duck as the Scarlet Pumpernickel. I wonder if any of the writers for Batman ever read it, b/c I saw some strong similarities between Bruce Wayne and the Percy Blakeney.
I am currently enjoying Deja Dead by Kathy Reichs. It's the first book in the Temperance Brennan series that spawned the tv show. There are very few similarities between the books and the show. Basically, they're both the best in their field and have the same name. I find that I prefer the book series.

That's a very good book!
I finally finished it. It was good. I am curious to read other accounts of the case, inaccurate and misleading though some of them may be. I'm especially interested in The Journalist and the Murderer, by Janet Malcolm. I found one of her other books, Iphegenia in Forest Hills, pretty interesting.
I started The Lord of the Rings yesterday. The pre-story stuff was really boring and not keeping my attention and I thought maybe I wouldn't like it. Preacher Man asked, "Why are you reading that stuff? You've read The Hobbit!" I did, and enjoyed it, but now that we're into the story, I am liking it.

Now I'm reading Beat to Quarters by, CS Forester; Popular Crime: Reflections on the Celebration of Violence, by Bill James; and Central Park in the Dark: More Mysteries of Urban Wildlife, by Marie Winn
I'm still on The Lord of the Rings, but I've read a couple books along with it. I'm enjoying the story, but I think the book is just too heavy for me to hold for long periods of time.

I just couldn't read Lord of the rings, it was just too much for me. I couldn't really follow the story and the English it was written in was too advanced for me. Maybe I'll try again sometime.
