One of my duties at my job is to answer the phone. One of our out of office salesmen calls ALL THE TIME. And he does NOT sell that much! He just called, and the person he wanted was in a meeting. I asked if he wanted to leave a voice mail, and he said, "Actually, I'm about to drop something off for a client, I'll call him right back." Okay, so you dont' have time to leave a VM, but you have time for a phone conversation? (BTW, this is the 3rd call from him that I've picked up today. No idea how many calls the other receptionist has gotten from him.)
So, for amusement's sake, I'm going to keep this thread as a log whenever he calls for a few days.
Today he called 3 times between 8:30 and 9. Then he called at 1:40 and 1:53. He's a salesman out in the field. They know he calls - it's just a nuisance, not really "harrassment".
I've considered giving him his customer service rep's cell and home phone numbers, but that would be mean. Not the rep's fault he does this! I think he's doing it to convince us he's "one the job".
Out of curiosity what does he says when he calls? Does all of the calling reflects on his productivity?
He wants to talk to his customer service rep most of the time. If the rep isn't available, he'll leave a voicemail...and call back in 5-10 minutes. Lately he has been calling every 5-10 minutes until he talks to the rep. Rep assures me that it is not something urgent. Half the time he says, "I'll send him an email."
He does NOT sell that much! His calls reflect his productivity - but in the opposite direction!
We have a QA guy that's a pain to work with. He ask you to explain him something, that you have already explained to him 238472987432 before, and then he says "I'm extremely confused", it makes you want to strangle him. He's the reason why we all now document, step by step, how to do some simple things to do testing.
