As I mentioned in a previous thread, my sister and her husband are divorcing. I will call him Jarod b/c he looks like the guy from Storage Wars and he is just as stupid. About six weeks ago, they signed an agreement that he would move out by October 31. Yes, today. Well, his new job "fell through," so has no money. Shockingly, six weeks of sitting on his ass and texting my sister what groceries to buy has not helped him prepare to get his own place. My sister is taking their son (age 3) trick or treating, and Mom and I are invited. Jarod is not.
We 3 took him last year and Jarod sat on his ass and watched TV, even though my sister asked him several times to join us. But I am sure he will whine and cry about "missing out". Suddenly, all of the family time and time with his son that he has pushed aside for the last 3 years in order to watch TV is precious and he will miss it soooo much!
Update: Drama was minimal. Jarod had been told by Sister a week ago that she was taking Nephew TnTing and Jarod was not welcome. Jarod could take Nephew after we were done. Mom and I arrived at their house and were TnTing by 5:30, in part to make sure Jarod would have plenty of time to take Nephew. Since it was so early, there were only about 10 people home with lights on, so we were done by 6. Jarod tried to join us, then got pissy when sister wouldn't let him, then sent a barrage of ugly texts. Then when we got back, he was of course watching TV. We asked Nephew several times if he wanted to do more TnTing, and of course he said, "yes!" well, Jarod fiddle-farted around for about another 45 minutes, and finally slammed out in a huff. TnTing with his son is sooo precious to him that a) he didn't bother to go last year and b) he screwed around for almost an hour watching TV instead of, you know, actually taking his son TnTing.
When this all started - about 6 weeks ago - Sister asked him how long he'd need to get a job, save up a deposit and move out. He said until Oct 31. Now he doesn't want to move out. So he's getting served with divorce papers in front of his 15 year old son Monday AM by a server, since he won't answer the lawyer's emails. Should be fun.
