It is a nice, warm day here today so I thought I’d sit outside for a bit, read and enjoy the sun, the birds and the peace and quiet. I make myself comfortable and am about two pages into my book when suddenly: “Wham, whack, crash, whack, thump, bang, crash” comes from a neighbor’s yard. What the? Could it be?!
We are separated by an 8-foot high fence so I go inside to the second floor to try to peek into their backyard. Yes, I was correct. There is a drum set out there. Not one of those small, kiddie-sized ones but a full-sized and the neighbor’s son is banging away at it with no apparent sense of rhythm.
I wonder why the drum set is in the backyard. Oh, wait… never mind.
I hope its over by now and you are back out in the yard or he has improved substantially!
One of the benefits of living in the country is that we hardly ever hear our neighbors. There was a gunshot this morning about 3/4 of a mile away, but it's the first weekend of deer season. That scared me back into the house.
