How is everyone today? I have laundry and dishes going and have read "The Foot Book" to DS about 10 times already. smile  I had planned a library run today for the story time and to pick up holds and of course they're closed.  Sigh.

No more snow till tomorrow so I'm going to enjoy the sunshine today.  Happy Monday to all!

I owe you a thanks, Marie! I was planning to go to the post office this am--had it packaged and labeled and ready to go--then after seeing your post had an aha! moment. You saved me a trip! I think you and I (and gazillions like us!) have been stuck in this mess that we've lost track of stuff and are just plodding along.

HOpe you enjoy your sunny day--I know I will!

Happy to have been of service! I had forgotten about the holiday until DH reminded me yesterday. Its just not one that registers on my brain I guess.
I definitely agree we just keep putting our heads down to avoid the weather and just forget to enjoy the fun days in between. I just wish DS would enjoy playing in the snow - it would do us good to be out and about I think.

I'm doing just fine thanks!

I woke up on time to do my yoga work out, and finished packing lunch. Also I had enough time to cut up some bananas and put some blueberries in a bowl to bring to work for later, so that made me happy, I love blueberries!!

Yay! Always starts the day off nicely when you have a nice snack to look forward to. DS loves blueberries too. I'm hoping to get some yummy fresh ones this summer since its NJ state fruit!

And I owe you a thanks, kinalikamom!  I was all set to go to the post office over lunch - I read the OP and figured the library must be closed because of the weather.  President's Day as a government holiday never hit me.  (Now where do I go for lunch, since I didn't bring anything because I'd be downtown anyways   ?)

Took the kids on a hike today in the woody trail not too far from our house. It was very nice. Gorgeous day. Almost 60 degrees. It warmed up quite a bit.

Ooh - I'm jealous BA, that sounds like a nice adventure. Also jealous of ilusuomi with your vacation and cooking! DS and I are still fighting colds so we didn't do much today I'm afraid. Tomorrow is his gymnastics class (14-22 month kids on trampolines etc are a riot!)

Hi everyone! Had a nice lazy day off today! It was beautiful though! Walked the dogs and then went to the store for some household items. Will read some now and maybe watch some Olympics. ;)

Today we are supposed to warm up...above freezing! I'll be glad when some of this crap melts.

Be prepared for floods when it does, flan. It's been so cold that the melting snow will only run off, not soak into the ground at all.

Yeah, I know. I think we are supposed to have thunderstorms later this week. THAT will be weird.

It was warm here today. I was hot out in the parking lot wearing my hoodie and I had to turn the heat off. We had all that snow last week. Only in the South.

I dreamed we got 2 feet of snow last night. We have way too much snow if I'm starting to dream about it!

That was no dream! That was a nightmare.

My driveway has all kinds of ruts in the snow and ice - it's difficult to back out now, the tires want to just follow the ruts, then slide into the ice banks on the side. My son spinning his tires for 15 minutes last night didn't help any, and when he finally could get out of the holes he spun and back into the street, instead of giving up and parking in the church lot across the street, he took 5 minutes to get into the driveway again.

I think tonight is going to be a church parking lot night - it's just going to melt more today, then slush up and freeze in slushy spikes.

Freezing rain. Lightning & thunder.

Weeping, wailing, gnashing of teeth, foot stomping...

No foot stomping outside! That can only lead to foot slipping, and butt landing.

Who's avatars Des? I hadn't even realized Kina and mine were so close until we posted next to each other. Gotta love sleepy kitties although Kina, yours looks like she's plotting someones demise!
I'm excited because DS actually ate well today instead of just grazing all day. The pediatrician had mentioned grazing is bad but the older he gets, the harder it is to get him to eat at mealtimes and not just ask for food all day long. Makes the days where he eats well a very nice, albeit rare, blessing.

Marie, JulieCat is actually pretty laid back. She curls up a lot like that with her tail over her face. Pretty sure it's a warmth conserving move, but it does come off as rather sinister!

Pouring rain right now. Almost lost it getting out of my car - under that slick of water and oil is a nice slick layer of ice. So much fun! And there's still at least a foot of snow in my yard - will be interesting to see how far it goes down today.

It's actually sunny and mid-40s today. No snow forecasted either, for a change! YIPPEE!!!

Lots of ice this morning, though, from the snow that was melted and froze overnight.

We actually broke 45 degrees this week! I'm not sure what the temp is right now, but it's raining, so it feels chilly. Nonetheless, I took AB for a drive just for something to do.

We drove out of state yesterday and the temps were in the low sixties. I wanted to shed my clothes and dance naked.

Except I'm not that uninhibited.

And there were people around.

And it's illegal.

And, really, MY human body isn't beautiful (except to DH, bless him); no need to gross out absolute strangers.
