I am looking so forward to it, we have not seen her since Christmas break.  She is working and so between classes, homework, work and all college is, she is busy.

This is her freshman year and she plans to become an Agriculture.  I am so proud of her she is maintaining straight A's like in HS, and yet exjoying college life

I am planning to take one day off of work to spend with her since she has to head back to college town mid day on Saturday.

I really have fun with her, and have plans to get together with all my kids when she is home

Good for her that she is working and going to school! It's a full load, but she will appreciate it when she goes for that fulltme job after graduation.

Have fun, you two! (But, keep it cleanbiggrin)

That is awesome. I so wish I had that relationship with my mom. How far away is her school? Not saying you haven't ever thought of doing this, but I know an awesome thing some of my dormmates received were care packages from their families. Just little things from home to make them feel like their family was there with them.

I meant agriculture teacher. Her school is 2.5 hours away. Not horribly far. And I send at least two funny cards a week and sometimes a food gift card or homemade snacks just things to let her know we miss her. We FaceTime call and text a lot. Don't know how *I* could do this without that. Or how my mom did when I was in college.
I love and am so proud of my daughter. Heck all my kids. And not only loving them. I really like them.

"I meant agriculture teacher."

Heehee, I was going to ask if she was leaning toward corn or wheat.

Glad she's coming home for break, have fun!

Riding, you are so awesome, you sure have done something right to have that relationship (both ways) with you children. I hope you two have a great time together.

thanks EmmDee

One thing I never was,was their FRIEND, I am their mom and their parent and yes we have fun etc, but they don't need another friend, they need a parent.

again this is all my opinion and what worked and works for our family

a mutual respect and lots of love and I am not afraid to say I am sorry if I make a mistake and I also make sure to celebrate the good and the positive. and I disciplined not punished. who learns from just being punished??
