Mentally, I have a window valance and small quilt for AB's room, popsicle stick puppets for speech therapy, several picture frames to paint and decorate, and a Peep sent me a bunch of beads and tools, so I'm mentally designing some pins.

I don't have any time for crafts right now. I just booked a 300 piece glassware order so I will be bored out of my mind for the next several weeks putting on vinyl, taping off, sandblasting and removing tape from each and every single piece.
I like the 'mentally' projects idea, Aardvark. I have two vests, several necklaces, and if I can get a knit circle so it looks like a circle, a pair of mittens.
Just finished a hat and fingerless mitts, and an in the process of braiding a scarf or cowl, depending on how it comes out.

I'm hoping to actually start on them soon! I offered to experiment with some stretchy fabric and a cheap pair of pants for my friend who is having trouble finding affordable work pants as she starts her second trimester.

I want to make some candle holders out of log stumps
I saw it somewhere where you cut a log stump to about 12" or so high and sand it down and then use a drill bit on top to cut out three circles the size of a tea light and put three of them in it or use citronella candle is using outside. some pictures had them setting in a group inside an empty fireplace.
I would like to make them for friends as a Chrustmas gift, so I better get busy huh

I have AB little monkey puppets done. His SP loved the idea, so I am going to go back to Michael's this week and get some other animals to make into puppets.

Can't remember if I talked about this here or not yet...
Got all the supplies to do a craft with the kids. I really hope it works. Basically you save boxes about the size of a cereal box and cut the top part out. Then mix up quick dry cement and fill the box and then level it. Then have the kids decorate them with glass stones or shells or handprints or whatever. Then when it dries you have garden stepping stones. My mother and my Grandmother and my Father all have beautiful gardens so I am having the kids make one a piece for each of them so 9 total stones. I really hope it works. The guy at the hardwore store acted like I was nuts when I came to get the cement.
We completed the stepping stone project. I will have to post some pics. It was a bitch mixing the cement. I made DH do it which he was not happy about but it turned out pretty cute. They are sitting there for 4 days to dry before we can move them.
Ummm its quick dry cement about 1 1/4 inches thick. It is taking almost a week to dry because we want to make super sure they are dry before trying to remove them. DH mixed it up himself and then just poured it in and then we let it sit a bit and then started decorating them.
They are Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts for my mom, Grandmother, Father from the kids.
It turned out fairly well. We had fish filter charcoal which I naively assumed is the same thing, but it's in little rice-sized nuggets. So I threw some in the soap batter and they didn't break down very well. I crush some with the back of a spoon and that worked okay, but the bar still has little flecks of charcoal. But it looks nice and it smells wonderful. I used Rose Geranium essential oil, so it's all natural.
We just got the stepping stones out of the molds. They came out okay as far as the concrete and they seem pretty sound but some of the little jewels already came out. I guess they were not secured enough when we put them on there. It still looks kinda cool though because it left an impression in the concrete. Mostly those little flower jewels came out and left an imprint of a flower.
If you want to reattach the jewels that came out, try using E6000, I have used it on glass beads that I attached to stone to make a cross and it has worked for going on two years in the elements.
oh yeah that stuff is used by the dance moms for rhinestoning haha!
We actually gave out all the stones to my Mom, Dad and Grandmother this weekend as early Mother and Father's day presents and they really loved them! They are excited about putting them in their gardens and thought it was very creative and pretty idea.
Balloon Animal's stepping stone project prompts me to make this offer:
I have lots of dichroic glass cabochons that are too small for earrings, rings or bracelet settings that would be perfect for other craft projects such as stepping stones or gluing to picture frames. I'm sure there would be other uses but these are the two that come to my mind.
Anyway, I don't need these and would be willing to share. If you want some, send me a PM and I will send you a random assortment of sizes, colors and patterns.
That is nice AG. I already finished our project and have a ton left over, but thank you for offering that to everyone. Always good to not waste stuff. :)
I started some picture frames today. I painted them blue (Ocean Blue, to be precise!) and once the second coat is dry, I will attach little shells that I collected from our trips to the OBX, I have a few others that I'm going to paint bright green for AB's room, and one black that will be made into a gift for my brother.

I like the idea of using shells from a beach trip as some kind of craft project. The shells in the stepping stone hip hop made my mom was from a beach trip we took with her. They were just sitting useless in a bucket in our basement and now they are actually somewhat displayed and will be kept forever.
I'm planning on using some as jewelry. I have some very pretty (and whole!) shells that are destined to become pins and other things. I'm bummed, though, because I have a perfect teeny conch shell that I wanted to make into a pin for my mom, but it's not with the others. I hope I just overlooked a bag in the hall closet.

I still somewhere have a perfect sand dollar I found on the beach which is apparently finding a perfect one is pretty uncommon. I wanted to make some kind of shadow box with it with a picture of all of us on the beach. Need to remember to get a good picture next time we go of all of us so I can try to make that.
Last night I sat down with graph paper and drew out the quilts I want to make with my Star Trek fabric. I'm pretty sure I'll get two queen size quilt tops out of the fabric I bought. Which makes me feel better about how much I spent

I picked up some "Rub n Buff" this weekend to color fill my etched glass. It is so cool! I only have gold so far because in store selection is limited. Here are some of my cut bottles for flameless candle lanterns, please ignore the mess of a table I have them set on right now.
those bottles remind me of something my mom had when I was young. You take an old wine bottle and get different colored candles and basically put him in the hole and burn them. As they melt the colored wax will go down the bottle. Then get a different color next time. Then over a long time you have this super cool looking rainbow wax bottle decoration. I remember thinking it was really cool. Kind of like the crayon melting pictures.
My mom wanted to make one of those blue bottle trees you see where people put blue beer bottles on wire and it looks like a cool tree and decoration for your garden.
I never did find the shells I am missing, so it looks like I'll be concentrating on my picture frames for now. I will probably find them next June when we're packing up to move.

I was even thinking of making some for her little friends (#1) and some for the moms (#2), but I don't want to leave dads out of the loop. But then I don't know if they would care.
My cousin is getting married in June. At her bridal shower she gave away tiny jars of honey as a favor. I'm going to use the honey to make them a batch of soap. I'll pour the soap batter over bubble wrap, which gives it a honeycomb look. I've got a fragrance called honey beeswax that is OMG to die for, so I'll scent it with that.
