So Richard on the other board Halle Berry was my icon. i know you hate short hair but what about grey? If I did not color my hair I would be a silver fix. And in a corporate world be it a man or woman how attractive a person is matters. And I don't mean just "attractive" but sexual attraction. So talk to me about gray hair even though I know you aren't into black chicks
I am soon to be 33 and getting a lot of white, not grey, hair show up. It is all focused in the front of course. I had been trying to stop coloring my hair since I have grown it longer. I am beginning to think that I was foolish. I do think grey can be attractive if done right. I think it is the in between stages as the grey creeps in that can look awkward.
I think gray/silver on a woman looks awesome. I like "natural" MUCH more than I like "artificially colored/dyed" when it comes to hair color.
I also like "salt-n-pepper" where it's natural dark with grey coming in.
For me, liking a person's hair is more about the style of that person's hair. Not the color of it.
ETA: I completely missed your last sentence until I was re-reading to see if I missed anything (good thing I do that... but I need to start doing it BEFORE I hit "post"... LOL). It's not that I'm "not into black chicks"... I just have yet to come across one that "revs my engine" (so to speak). There are many white "chicks" that don't do that either.
Halle Berry was an amazingly beautiful and sexy woman... she just needs to grow her hair back out, and she would be again.

I'm starting to go silver. Not gray, but SILVER! Those suckers shine like tinsel among by medium-ish brown hair. I've been plucking them for now, but depending on how fast they change, I will probably start dyeing it. I'm putting it off as long as I can, because my hair is really healthy and I'm afraid the chemicals will kill it.

I started going gray about 30. I blame the having kids LOL. So I started dying it about once a month to cover it. I look way too young to go grey yet. On some people it looks good, but I am not there yet.
I got my hair cut today and she was shocked to find silver hairs. I'm 28. She asked why, and I said "My kids!"
I've had a couple since I was 20 or so, but they're getting more numerous lately. I haven't decided to do anything about it yet. They're not noticeable unless you're way too far in to my personal bubble (or my DH, who doesn't care).
I prefer Halle Berry with short hair. She has very pixie-like features - high cheekbones, delicate chin, and I think a shorter haircut really works with that. And she just has amazing eyes.
I started going grey around 30. Well actually the hairs coming in were silver and white. Very noticeable. I started colouring around 32-33 and haven't looked back.
I might stop once I retire. I thought of letting the grey come in and then I looked at my sister who did that for a while. It aged her 10+ years! When she finally got it coloured, she looked so good! So I know not to let it grey.
Once I am no longer in the work force, I might get my hair stripped of all colour so I don't have to wait for it to grow out.
Eh, if I hate it after a month or two, I can go back to colouring it.
I had alopecia twice. Once when I 26 and didn't even notice it until my hair dresser did. I have a lot of hair! But once I knew the bare spots were there, I freaked out. I got a specialist appt with a dermatologist who told me that it would grow back. Eventually. I told her that I couldn't wait. She told me that she could give me cortisone injections in my head but they were extremely painful and suggested I think about it. I booked the injections before I left that day. I was back a week later and she asked me if I was sure. I told her Yes! I went home with a severe headache and a face covered in blood. Washed up and slept the rest of the day after taking pain killers. I went for 4 more rounds of injections and my hair started coming back.
All in all, from the time I noticed to the time my hair started growing back it was probably a few months. I was lucky, I only had patches of loss and all my hair didn't fall out. My current hair covered it but I was careful with any updo's or pinning my hair back.
The second time I was 35 and the recovery time was much shorter. I noticed earlier while shampooing my hair and having globs come out in my hand. I called the dermatologist directly and scheduled injections so I saved a bunch of time. This time I only needed 3 rounds of injections.
No one except the people I told knew I had it. You couldn't see the patches because of the rest of my hair.
How I dealt with it is I was told it was due to stress. The only stress I had was at work, so both times I quit my job and took another position.
