More Drama from Cousin

I haven't spoken to Cousin in months. I'm pretty sure she's restricted us on Facebook. Mom met her and CS for lunch one day. Mom contacted them to set it up. She brought them some Christmas gifts.

During the lunch, Cousin mentioned that she was probably going to rehome her dog. This hurt Mom a lot b/c we have cared for Cousin's Dog a lot, and Mom has even offered for her dog to come live with us, b/c her dog was having a lot of problems adjusting - including pulling out several of her own teeth trying to get out of her crate.

Mom mentioned something about being willing to help with CS, and that they were still family. Cousin responded, "You didn't call CS on his birthday." (Cousin didn't call any of us on our birthdays. Also, mom was injured in an accident around the time of CS's bday, and Cousin never called. Also, cousin never called when my sister's son was in the hospital for 2 days.)

She also said, "We weren't invited to Thanksgiving." Thanksgiving is hosted by my dad's sister. Cousin is my mom's niece. So our Tgiving hostess is Cousin's aunt's Sister in Law. Thats' a pretty thin connection. Also, this was the aunt that, when Cousin posted on FB about being sick and Aunt wished her well, Cousin replied, "That post was only meant for my friends." ALSO, last year, Cousin proclaimed herself a "Thanksgiving Orphan" and took her boyfriend to visit her family in another state for Tgiving.

Then Cousin said, "Are we invited to Christmas?" Well, no. B/c you're a bitch and your son is a spoiled little bully. (Mom didnt' say that. I think she sort of hemmed and hawed.)

So, we had a LOVELY tree decorating and Christmas Day. Day after Christmas we went to an event at the local zoo, and it was also great! When we arrived, Cousin had placed the presents mom gave her (not the presents Mom gave her son, btw) by the door.

Mom sent her a text asking why, and Cousin responded, "I can't accept these. I'd rather have family than gifts." So mom spent that night and the next morning crying.

B/c of this, Sister is DONE with Cousin and never wants to see her again. I think I am too.

I handed mom a copy of "Co-Dependent No More" and she's going to go to therapy - for herself.

I'd say good for your cousin for not taking gifts away from a kid because of her snit-fit, but I'd be willing to bet the kid thinks his mom, not your mom, got them for him.

I hope the therapy helps your mom recognize all the mind-games that bitch-of-a-cousin has been playing.

I pointed out to Mom that Cousin was more than happy to accept the "gift" of 5 months free rent. She was more than happy to go on vacation and leave her dog with us twice even after she moved out. She waited to reject a gift until she didn't need it and could hurt mom.

Mom's BFF is friends with Cousin on FB. Apparently Cousin is looking for volunteer opportunities for CS (age 9), because when they got back from their ski trip, he complained about how hard his life was.

Mom and I went to FB to read it, and realized Cousin has us restricted on FB. I am seriously considering blocking her.
