I recently finished Oxygen Carol Cassella. The protagonist is an anesthesiologist who loses a pediatric patient on the operating table and the ensuing aftermath. It was fantastic! My heart was literally racing at the climax. Definite five star, two thumbs up rating.
The other good one is Elixir by Ted Galdri. Child genius solves a theoretical math problem, has to go into hiding, then has to risk his new identity to cure his dying girlfriend. It needs a healthy suspension of disbelief, but it's enjoyable. I gave it three and a half stars on goodreads.com.

I just finished a memoir by Ted Koppell. It's an old one - he wrote a short comment each day in 1999. Some were about personal things happening that day, others were about the national and world news going on at the time. Quite a ride down memory lane.
I just finished The Eight Human Talents by Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa. I've been following her work for quite some time and have attended several of her workshops. She is a great inspiration to me.
I have been on a nonfiction kick this summer, but I did just devour (seriously - took me 50 hours to read almost 1100 pages AND I still had AB to care for) Under the Dome by Stephen King. I'm not thrilled with the ending, but not surprised at the explanation.
