Thinking about a party this summer where pulled pork and pulled chicken, buns and coleslaw would be the main feature. What would you serve as apps? Sides? Dessert? Note-I have a very small kitchen.
I missed the suggestions for apps and dessert. Whoops! Deviled eggs are a good idea, as are fresh veggies and dip. For dessert, fruit skewers are refreshing after a hot meal, and I've had rave reviews of my cherry fluff.
Cherry Fluff
1 15-ounce can cherry pie filling
1 20-ounce can crushed pineapple DRAINED
1 small can sweetened condensed milk
1 8 ounce container of Cool Whip
Mix pie filling and crushed pineapple, then stir in condensed milk. Fold in Cool Whip and refrigerate at least six hours (overnight is preferable for maximum fluffiness).

I can't help you with the "Pasta Salad", but I'll put in my 2 cents worth on the recipes for Baked Beans and for Deviled Eggs...
Baked Beans: per each large can of Baked Beans (don't know how many you are serving, so adjust accordingly) 1 large can of baked beans (unflavored... just regular ol' Baked Beans) 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon 1 tablespoon brown sugar 1 cap-full of Vanilla Extract (not the imitation stuff... the REAL thing) 1 cap-full of Maple Extract 1 or more "dashes" of Tabasco Sauce (to preferred spiciness level)
Simmer in a pot stirring regularly (adding Tabasco Sauce as needed) until "done".
Deviled Eggs: Boiled Eggs (of course) Split them in half, longways (of course) mash up the yolks and add the following as needed: sweet relish (or finely diced "Bread and Butter" pickles), Miracle Whip, Honey Mustard, Horse Radish (or Wasabi) paste, Garlic powder (or salt). Spoon (or pipe using a piping bag) the mixture into the egg halves Dust the completed eggs with smoked Paprika.

What is your favorite baked beans recipe? Pasta salad? Deviled eggs? Can a PM wife eat those? ; )
I'm trying the cherry fluff this weekend.
I usually use Bush's vegetarian beans. I rinse off the sauce they come in, then add ketchup, blackstrap molasses, and brown sugar. I have no measurements, as I just add until it tastes right. Then, I cook in a crock pot on low for a couple of hours.
Pasta salad, I can be a little more precise.
1 lb tri-color rotini
2 8 oz blocks of colby jack cheese, cubed
8 oz grape tomatoes, washed
8 oz pepperoni sliced
2 cucumbers, peeled and sliced
2 16 oz bottles Italian salad dressing (I prefer Kraft)
McCormick Salad Supreme, to taste (It's in the spice section with the Mrs. Dash and such)
Boil pasta and chill completely. Add in other ingredients, go easy on the Salad Supreme. Chill and serve. You may not need all of the dressing, but if you're preparing it the day before, reserve about half a bottle to mix it before serving, as the pasta can soak it up overnight.
As for deviled eggs, yes, a PW can eat them but this one doesn't. I do make them, though, for PM and he likes them. I just mash the yolks with a fork, add enough mayo and relish so it looks like the right texture, and sprinkle the filled eggs with paprika.
Sorry for the delay in my reply - I haven't been online a ton. How did the fluff come out?

I may have to go to the store for watermelon. I have a yen for it now! I had one for baked beans, but we had a church picnic yesterday, so I made them. Of course, I made way too many, so I shall find out if they freeze.
