The moderator team and I have revised our list of rules. Please take a minute to look them over. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me or a Moderator.
Moderators are FrootLoop, RichardInTN, and Desdenova.
Note: If anyone truly has any issues with the rules, PM the GPoP and the mod team will discuss it. That doesn't mean changes will be made, but GPoP and the Mod Team welcomes feedback!
RULES
This community only welcomes posters aged 18 and older.
No profanity, personal attacks, or trolling.
No name-calling.
No posting of other posters' personal information that could identify them in real life.This includes photographs.However, we do realize that there are Peep Meets and if everyone in the photographs gives you permission to post it, this is permitted.
Do not post the text of PMs.
Please alert a moderator if you feel a rule has been violated.Moderators should be listed in a small box on the bottom left corner of the home page. We hope to see members of this community handle their disagreements in a mature and tolerant manner, with an effort toward tolerance and respect for the viewpoints of others.
Please note that warnings may be issued on threads, with the offending post or posts quoted or in a PM. However, the GPoP may choose to PM a poster if she feels that a thread is moving into negative territory without any violation of the posted rules.GPoP does reserve the right to privately warn a poster regarding a potential banning (temporary or permanent).
Any poster repeatedly violating the rules, or violating them in a particularly egregious way will face consequences up to and including a temporary ban. Temporary banning timelines are as follows: First offense - one week; second offense - one month; third offense - permanent. Moderators will be the authority on what constitutes an offense serious enough to warrant a banning; as before, any permanent ban must be agreed to by the entire moderation team. (The GPoP does not need moderator agreement to ban a poster).
Trolls and the like will be banned from the forum. This includes regular posters creating alternate usernames for the purpose of trolling (negative or not).
Any user who PMs a poster after being directly asked by that poster to cease and desist will be given 1 warning only and banned on the second occurrence (whether the second occurrence involves the same recipient or not). This rule applies to any communication via PM after the "stop" request, unless it is an apology or written acquiescence. Any PM communication after an apology or acquiescence will result in disciplinary action.This applies to all board members - moderators included - except GPoP. Please note that the offending PM, including the request to stop sending PMs, will need to be forwarded to GPoP or moderators in order to for action to be taken.
Moderators are to be held to the same standards as any other posters; there is no more stringent standard for moderators posting as themselves.
IMPORTANT ADDITIONS:
Also, the moderators (FrootLoop, RichardInTN, and Desdenova) will be given moderator powers under their actual screen names instead of using the “secret” names.They will not be able to see IP addresses or edit profiles.Only I, the GPoP (aka Aardvark), can do this.Many posters have expressed concern about personal information being gathered through their IPs and rest assured, I have no idea how to do this and if I did, I wouldn’t.

EDITED AS OF MAY 18, 2012 - BEING A GENERAL NUISANCE WITHOUT ACTUALLY BREAKING THE RULES IS NOW CONSIDERED TROLLING. A TROLL'S PEROGATIVE IS TO SPREAD ENMITY AND DISCORD AND DOES NOT CONTRIBUTE POSITIVELY TO THE COMMUNITY.
NO ONE IS BEING FORCED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS COMMUNITY. YOU ARE HERE OF YOUR OWN FREE WILL. IF IT MAKES YOU UNHAPPY TO PARTICPATE HERE, PERHAPS THIS IS NOT THE COMMUNITY FOR YOU.

UPDATE: Moderators are prohibited from discussing disciplinary actions taken with posters, unless said poster is the recipient of aforementioned actions.
UPDATE: The rule concerning other forums has changed. We still ask that you do not use this forum to bash another (i.e. - the MM Invisapeeps board). Discussing other boards has never been prohibited, however we felt the rule was necessary due to a few bad apples trying to stir up trouble. We may reinstate this rule if necessary.
UPDATE: Our community does have members that are moderators on other sites. Contacting them to discuss disciplinary actions that occur on other boards is strictly prohibited.
Clarification: This is ONLY for disciplinary actions. You can certainly PM each other about other topics, but we have had issues in the past with disgruntled posters pestering other site mods about their warnings/bannings.
This rule was originally added several months ago, but was accidentally deleted in an update.

UPDATE: Please be advised that multiple accounts are prohibited on this forum. If any users are found to have more than one account, they will be asked to choose which they'd like to keep and they other(s) will be deleted.
ADDITION: Contacting posters without their permission off-board is also strictly prohibited. You may contact posters via the private messaging system as long as it follows the rules outlined in the community rules post.

CLARIFICATION: A moderator may issue a warning even if action has not been reported. Reporting infractions helps our team keep the community running smoothly, but if one of us sees something amiss, we can and will take action.

ADDITION: Community members are allowed to advertise other forums and communities to which they belong or own. Please limit such posts to one a week; a link in your signature or profile is welcomed.
Also, some members sell their crafts or other wares, or sell products such as Jamberry, Avon, or MaryKay. Advertising these businesses is permitted, but please keep such threads/posts to one a month. You may certainly mention your businesses in threads/posts; the limit is just on "Hey, come check out my..." type messages.
