I can't believe someone would be this careless. I've put stuff on the top of my car while unlocking it, but never left even carry out food on top and driven away.If you are that stupid you should lay off the doobies when you have your child with you.
A woman has been charged with aggravated DUI and child abuse after her 1-month-old baby was found abandoned in the street.
Police were called to the area of 45th Avenue and Cholla early Saturday morning after a child was found sitting in a car seat in the middle of the road.
While investigating the scene, two witnesses approached the officers and identified the mother as 19-year-old Catalina Clouser.
The witnesses said they had been smoking marijuana with Clouser and her boyfriend earlier in the evening at a nearby park.
Clouser and her boyfriend reportedly left the park around 11 p.m. to go buy beer. The boyfriend was pulled over on the way to the store and arrested for aggravated DUI after police determined he was driving impaired with the baby in the vehicle.
Upset over her boyfriend’s arrest, Clouser reportedly drove to the witnesses’ home and smoked more marijuana.
Clouser decided to leave the house around midnight with her baby asleep in a car seat. Before driving away, Clouser apparently forgot that she had left her child sitting on the roof of her car.
She realized her mistake as soon as she got home and called her friends to see if they could start looking for the child.
Clouser eventually returned to the scene as police were investigating and admitted to what had occurred. She was subsequently arrested and booked into jail.
The baby was not injured, and is in custody of Arizona Child Protective Services.
I think people are overly concerned in the upbringing of other's children. She made a mistake.
It was at least two huge mistakes. First, driving under the influence, especially with her baby in the car. Second, becoming so impaired that you forget that you put the baby on the roof and drive off. I'm interested that you see this as simply a mistake and that the police were overly concerned.

I do not get where you call this a case of being too involved in someone's style of upbringing. This isn't an issue of bed times, or what to feed the child, or is spanking good. This is an issue of "mom was so fvcked up she left the kid on the roof of the car and drove off, causing the baby to fall to the ground and lay in the road until someone found the baby". The baby could have died.
