I don't personally think they are a huge deal to celebrate in real life. I have no problem with the thread for them, I just wish there was a way to know who are active posters and who is not. If the OP is about the threads, I don't see the issue.

well I see the number of post under an individuals profile. To me that tells me if they are an active poster or not.

Active as in visit the board. There are a lot of posters you can go back and see that they have visited recently even if they haven't posted.

Mine is going to be a Federal Holiday sometime after I die... so mine is definitely a "Big flipping deal!!!".

There is nothing wrong with celebrating birthdays!


Although.. I have been told it is not so okay to celebrate ones birthday for an entire week, I might possibly heartily disagree with that. :)

I think people can decide for themselves what their own birthdays mean to them.

I don't really do much to celebrate mine. If others do more to celebrate theirs, that's their perogative.
and if people want to do something for other people's birthdays-start threads for them, for example- that is their perogative.
