A guy I've known for a few years has resurfaced and asked me out again. We've had approximately two 'dates' that were, while not disastrous, were not terribly successful.
One of the things that I find a bit off-putting is his total obsession with Scooby-Doo. Hobby fine, a series of FB posts about hot he finds Velma.... Eww.
Dude, she's a cartoon character. If you want a relationship with a real woman, quit comparing us all to the wonders of Velma.

Velma is the frumpy smart one. Daphne is the purple-wearing red head.
This thread reminds me of a conversation the two DJs on our local rock station were having the other morning - they were talking about "hot" cartoon characters. Why? I don't know.
According to them: Jessica Rabbit is the hottest
But others who also carry "hot" status are:
Betty Rubble Betty & Veronica from the Archie comics Lois Griffin And the mother from the Family Circus comics.
Yes, the Velma is the smart nerd-girl with the thick glasses.
I have no problem with someone enjoying cartoons or comics. Just the apparent inability to distinguish a cartoon character from a real person, and thinking the cartoon character is your Hot Dream Girl.
Every man has a favorite when it comes to Ginger or Mary Ann and I think you can tell something by which it is...lol. Do they go for the sweet little girl next door or the stunning high maintenance movie star? The only choice they gave us girls (who like boys) was Gilligan, Skipper, Mr. Howell, or the professor and none were my type. I was more of a captain Kirk kind of girl.

I was madly, passionately in love with either Scotty or McCoy (it changed a lot!)
Many years later, I met Jimmy Doohan at a Trek con. Very entertaining, but a drunk lech. I was a good bit heavier then and apparently, he liked women of abundant proportions with vast tracts of land. I think some friends of mine took pictures, but I don't have them.
I've never had a yen for a cartoon character -- at least not to his degree.

If I had to pick it would have been the professor.
