None of the major releases coming out soon look good to me but I might see a few of them anyway.
I've never liked Tom Cruise at all but I wouldn't avoid a movie just because he was in it. This one doesn't look very good though. I can't think of a trailer I've seen recently that looked good-this, the new Spiderman, the new Batman, The Great Gatsby, others I can't remember right now.
There are some smaller, arthouse type releases coming to my area that I might see, but I haven't really looked into it. And where I live there are always retrospectives and repertory and things.

I saw MIB3 last week too. I actually enjoyed it. Thought it was a nice way to just hang out with a friend. I was talking to Froot about this recently. I have such a stressful life right now that I look for movies that don't require the use of my mind to just relax while watching. Complicated plots that I have to follow are not what I am looking for right now. My brain hurts and needs a dumbed down movie to compensate for that.

Then you need "The Princess Bride" and if you have already seen it I think you need to see it again. This movie is a guaranteed stress reliever just because you laugh so much you don't have time to be stressed...lol

I do think there are movies that are happy, fun, relaxing, comforting and escapist while also being good and not dumbed down. And a good movie is more uplifting than a bad one.
I'd like to see Rock of Ages, even though I really don't like Tom Cruise, but the previews look fun. Still haven't seen The Avengers, which is on my list. Also: Batman & Spider-Man - I've seen them all so I'll continue to see them because they're action packed and I love action movies. [Although, I'm going to miss Toby Maguire as Peter Parker.]

The Spiderman trailer really does not look good to me. And, oddly, some of it looks bad in the same way the earlier version looked bad-the swinging around the building scenes look so fake and cartoony and shiny. But maybe that's what they are aiming at and what people like? Who knows.
I saw two trailers for the new Batman and didn't like either of them but I guess that doesn't necessarily mean I wouldn't like the movie.
Just saw RoA. Fun movie. Not a great movie, but good for a couple hours of mindless entertainment.
I've also seen Prometheus (good, strange ending), Snow White and the Huntsman (better than I expected it to be, despite Kristen Stewart), and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (very good, bittersweet).
DH & I saw Rock of Ages Saturday night. It was entertaining and had some funny parts. If you go there to just be entertained by 80s music (although the actors are singing), and don't expect anything deep or thought provoking, then you will like the movie. But if you're looking for something to discuss over your next dinner with your intellectual friends, then this isn't the movie for you.
I wasn't expecting it to be a big Hollywood-type musical -- I thought it was going to be more serious about the rock music business and how it treats the people in it.
Surprise!
It was fun, I enjoyed it. Entertaining for a couple of hours.
