you planted WHAT?

LMAO!

ES, It starred out the name of your flowers.  They are very beautiful.  I like your boxed beds.  It's so much neater.  And then with the mulch down between the isles.  That's the way to go!

I love all the color!  I need to do more ornamentals.  I focus too much on food production and sometimes we don't even eat it all.  My family is getting smaller and my gardening efficiency is getting better LOL!

The pictures of the lillies are beautiful. Would anyone else like lo share their gardening pictures or tips? Last year it snowed on June 1st where I live and so much hard work got ruined that I waited so late to start anything. I My stuff will be coming along later but I'd love to see your gardens.

I sell landscape supplies but don't have a green thumb. I have a few cacti, plumeria, and hibiscus, in pots at the office, that is it.

I buy fake plants because I can only kill the real ones.

Hehehe I can't really keep plants alive, the lady that helps us clean the house has an awesome green thumb and she is the one that has kept most of our plants alive LOL.
She has even revived one that we thought was gone for good.

DMQ, that is a great greenhouse. Did your husband use old windows to make it?

This is one of the trellases mine made for cucumbers and beans.

Last year I planted a couple of these ****scombs and when they went to seed spread them all over the bed.

I think every one of them sprouted and grew.  The coneflower was a stray I found in the strawberry bed.  It is seeding itself all over the place too.

Oh SWEET! That's what I'm talkin' bout!

I try growing my vines up trellises so that my shade lovers can grow beneath them but my growing season here is so short that I can't always succesively plant things. Most of the time it's

waiiit... waaaiiiiiit... waaaaaiiiiiiit. Ok NOW! Plant everything. LMAO!

My husband used almost all reclaimed materials to build my greenhouse.  A friend of ours had his windows changed out so we got all the old ones.  There was NOTHING wrong with the old ones.  His first wife passed away and his new wife set about completely remodeling their house.  Score for us.

Another set of friends was changing out their deck to TREX decking so we got all the lumber from their old wooden deck.  That was the floor.

The shelving and the front door were rejects from the hardware store.  With the shelving we just cut off the bent part and used the rest.  With the door all it needed was a new handle.  It was probably $1.80.  I don't remember.

If you look to the left hand side below where the windows are framed in you can see glass blocks all around the bottom.  Those were from another friend who was remodeling his bathroom.  We had more than enough to go down both sides of my greenhouse.

The paint was oopsie paint from the hardware store but I think next year I'm going to paint the greenhouse to match the house.

Some of the lumber my husband already had but some of it he had to purchase.  Same with the hardware, screws and whatnot's.  So the only expense he had to building it was the plastic roof.  He bought some special plastic that lets in the maximum amount of light but still holds up for years.

If you can't tell I'm uber proud of my husband.  I know a lot of guys are handy and smart enough to be able to build stuff but it really does take somebody special to be able to collect all the STUFF, look at, measure it, do that special brain magic and then build something beautiful and useful out of all those reclaimed materials.

ES, I saw that one. In fact I bought that one about 10 years ago but I got a killer deal on it and I paid only about $500 something for it. The problem is I live in a mountainous region and the wind where I live is no joke. In fact our town was built specifically because the strong winds helped dry the lumber. This was originally a mill town.

Unfortunatley that green house couldn't stand up to the winds in our area and it only lasted about 4 years. Even though I got a good deal it was a bad investment on my part. I didn't raise enough starts to pay for that PLUS I had to keep replacing the plastic so it was even more.

The one my husband built probably cost another $500 something but it's gonna last. I use it to store wood in the winter and I hang my clothes in there to dry as well. LOL!

It'll probably been done paying for itself with lower electricity bills by the end of this summer
This is a side view:

FINALLY! Harvesting produce from the garden. I got pics but no computer. Up until today we've only reaped onions, lettuce and beans. Today we finally got peppers, squash, zucchuni, beets, tomatoes, radish and our corn looks pretty good too. I was getting worried that it wouldn't make it but it looks like we'll have plenty.
