I have different colors for guilty or innocent, numbers for how sure I am about people (a scale of sorts), I have a chart with arrows to show who voted for who and notes of questions or assumptions. I swear it started so innocently and it just snowballed from there...lol

Since you REALLY want me to play. Will you FB me this weekend if I am going to miss something? I won't have a lot of time this weekened but I'm night shift next Tues-Friday so I'll be around quite a bit in the night and will see what kind of mafia scheming I can do.

Most people ususally start with their own (the narrators) fictional killing by the mafia. Then open with lynching. However, if you're going to start Friday evening, I think a lot of people may be are away from the computer over the weekend (I'm mostly on at work) and they may not be aware the game has started.

If you're going to start with a lynching, I'd start Friday morning and have 24 hrs later on Saturday be your deadline to vote.

I've never hosted but if the game starts at night and the phases go 24 hrs it still gives everyone a chance to vote (or plot to kill if they're mafia). I am usually only on days but if you have more time at night to do the narrating then you should start at night.

I'mcool with whenever we start. I keep my nook in my pocket (damn you Richard!) So I'm good to pop in at any time of day or night. I was just a little confused about starting at night cuz the baddies conspire at night and I thought the good guys always went first. Of course I've only played twice so I'm no expert on the rules.

Dqm it does get confusing talking about Mafia day and night phases. They are not related to the real Night and day times. Normally you assign 24 hours to a "day" phase followed by a 24 hour night phase. That is so everyone gets a chance to join in.

dqm...sometimes there are early reveals which means that it isn't a full 24 hours. That may be what is throwing you off.

I hoestly thought the baddies could only conspire at night. I had a whole plan set up for lurking the board at night to see who logged in but didn't post LMAO!

I was convinced that was going to be my strategy for sussing out mafia pm'ing each other.

I think my mafia addiction struck hard.

The fact that you actually DID it has me in guffaws because I swear I already had out my markers and sh!t. I was gonna be super sleth all ---- mmmmhhhmmm I KNEW it. So and so was on at 9:34 pm for 12 minutes and didn't post anything. I betchou she's a baddie!

I wasn't gonna give away my super secret strategy though because I didn't want any false positives. I mean other innocents lurking doing the same thing. I thought I was gonna be so clever LOL!

That was part of my strategy when I first started too! :) But I've learned it really is unreliable. Too many other interpretations. Besides mafia, it could be specials doing their thing, or someone like me who often stays logged in even though I'm not actively on the board. You can't eliminate people as mafia based on not being logged in either, since mafia often communicate through email instead of pm.
