Spoiler

Basically it is a diaper that sounds an alarm and then plays "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" when the diaper gets wet. And it costs 2x as much as regular diapers.

I don't think I would have bought these even if they were around when my kids were little.

If diapers are so absorbant that the child doesn't know they are wet, why not just buy cheaper, less comfortable diapers? I know of several children didn't like the feeling and would toddle over to their mothers with a fresh diaper in hand demanding to be changed. Then the moms knew they were ready for potty training.

I know I should not contribute since I do not have children, however, I helped at my grandmother's in house day care all growing up and played a very active role in my cousin's two children's early years. My grandmother was old school and didn't believe in pull ups and stuff similar. It was always straight from diapers to training underwear. She was always very successful at potty training and I think she would laugh until she died if she knew about music playing diapers. If I was responsible for cleaning the cloth training underwear, I know I would have motivation to work with the child and get them trained quickly.

IDK, even the cheapest off brand diapers are still pretty absorbant, IME.

I had to switch DS over to underpants completely before he recognized the feeling.  It meant lots more laundry, but it worked!

With each of my kids I dedicated a day to teaching them how to use the potty.

It doesn't have to be a drawn out process.

I used a scientific method developed by two Ph.Ds
It worked well for us. I recommend the book:

Toilet training in less than a day.
