I love scones! It's a little late in the day for coffee, though unless it's decaf.

LMAO, I posted a photo of a coffee shop here but then I saw that there were barn animals in the rafters. This one is a little more to my liking:

*tap microphone. Is this thing on?

I'd hate to have to resort to singing but I will if I have to. Is there anyone around for a chat before I start caterwauling?

I dunno... I think it's very valuable, I don't know what would I do without my kingdom.

I might be willing to take the offer. A cup of coffee for your kingdom. I used hazelnut whole bean coffee. My coffee maker grinds the beans. Do you take cream and sugar? How should we arrange the transfer of your kingdom?

Only if it's decaf! I can't have regular coffee until after I have the baby cry

Even if the doctor said it was ok, DH thinks is better if I don't drink coffee. So if you can make that delicious sounding coffee in a decaf version I'll UPS my kingdom your way aww

I have to go to the store this afternoon. I will pick up some decafbiggrin. As an added bonus, when you have the baby I will send some regular. Never let it be said I am not willing to go the extra mile to get your kingdom.

When my now-retired husband was plaguing me during my vacation, I asked him to picture himself as a lone person at Starbucks, reading a book. How would he like it if every 2 minutes a staff person came over, bussed his table, asked how the coffee was tasting, had he seen their specials, etc. etc.?

Hard to say DGM. His facial expression loked like he was hearing blah blah nag but the night before last he made me a grilled cheese sandwich when I was too tired to eat and was just going to go to bed after a couple of highballs. Darn good sangie, too.

My friend is so freaking funny I have to share!

She's a soft hearted animal lover who lives out in a rural area with many cats. One day this beautiful but possibly dangerous cat entered her garage. She's been chronicling her adventerus with this cat and she's very proud of her accomplishments. After much patience he is now an indoor/outdoor cat. He has his shots and is fixed and it's safe for adults to interact with him.

The funny part:

His name is Feral Kittie. He has joined the happy family of Momma Kittie, Brother Kittie and Other Kittie.

Hey, I had 2 cups from my automatic coffee maker before I arrived at work. That will do me for the day, but I like the fellowship of a coffee shop. No offense, but you Yanks drink warm weak piss for coffee. Could Desda make me a pot a la her own country? She could watch me enjoy it and wait for the day when she has a beautiful baby and a great cup of coffee at the same time.

Come to Vancouver BC Canada. Starbucks originated in Seattle and think they're all that. Sure, I want to drink coffee made out of burned beans and be served by exploited labour. We have a million start-ups that have their own blends, their own music, practice Fair Trade with the 3rd World or we won't go there. They sink or swim depending on what they offer because we have so many to pick from.

Also, you can go kayaking on the ocean and then go up to a mountain to snowboard in a 2-hour drive. Plus we have universal medical and our maternity/parental leaves are 1 year. Adoption leave is 35 weeks. They just legislated that if you're caring for a sick child you have 35 weeks insstead of the former 6. The medical is tax dollars but the leaves are from our EI (Employment Insurance, used to be called UI - Unemployment Insurance).

Whereabouts are you, EmmDee?

Bessie, I am in central Texas. Can I come live with you?

My favorite coffee shop is in my home town, she buys all of her beans from a semi-local bean roaster. Nothing burnt about it.

My favorite is not really a coffee shop, but a restaurant and bakery about 45 minutes from where I live. The coffee is good, but the eggs benedict is better. Some friends and I are going this morning for brunch and shopping. Two of them already decided to share a plate of the eggs and an order of bananas foster french toast. If anybody is ever in Mid Missouri, I'd be happy to take them there.

It is almost on the way there. I mapquested it and you probably go would go within about 20 miles of the Lake of the Ozarks. That is where we went this morning. That would be so fun!

How about a vacation swap? I've always wanted to see Texas. What's your closest big city? The closest I've been to your area is Pueblo, Colorado.

I'm in Austin but I live with Froot. I would have seriously considered it back when I had my own condo. Would have been a blast! I may not have been willing to swap back.

I'm not entirely sure, my best guess is someone complained about discussing other boards, maybe even the mafia board so the rules were changed

I don't understand it at all.

It sounds like
-We changed a rule.
-There really was no rule.
-We might bring the rule back.

lol, yeah, I kind of thought the same thing. We had the rule for good reason for sure. Maybe it was thought the rule served it's purpose and as long as things stay respectful the rule was unnecessary.

Foot, meet mouth.

We were playing a game with some friends and my team was trying to get me to say a word. Their clue was:
It's what women do to men when they want something from them but they don't want to have sex with them.

I said

confuse Marry them?

The word was TEASE but we lost because no one could breathe from laughing at my answer. I don't even know why I said that.

I'd have said flatter, but tease works.
(The other thing works very well too!)
