I do NOT freakin' believe this! Or don't want to. After all the excitement about starting a new job today, I got to the new office, told them I was there for indoc and was told, 'Oh, we're so sorry, didn't anyone let you know? Your SCI expired four months ago.'
I'm still eligible, but it takes 30 to 60 days to process.
Which means the job offer has been retracted and I'm still looking. The SSO and Asst SSO both checked my clearance status and I did reams of paperwork to update everything. I cannot believe they missed the difference between 'active' and 'eligible.'
I read this on fb but still can not believe it. Can you renew your status so it doesn't happen again? Here is to hoping that this door closing brings you an even better opportunity, you deserve it.

Hey, Lady. You don't even want to know what I went through to get my sweet union job of 32 years that I'm retiring from in April. Don't give up! You have all the right stuff. These bozos don't recognise it and will be sorry some day.
I must admit, I'm tired and a little depressed, but I've gotten another contingent offer. The contract hasn't been awarded yet, but it's looking good. I've got another possibility that I need to check on this afternoon. The company where a friend of mine works is looking for an admin -- the one they had quit very abruptly. No idea what the pay is, but it's very close!
That didn't work out -- they've already hired someone. However.....I just got a call from I applied to 2-3 weeks ago. They want me to come in for an interview today!
