...holy cow, was he clingy today!  Normally, I can fold laundry in the living room while he plays next to me happily, or I can put him in his swing seat in the kitchen while I cook or clean up.  Today, not only did I have to be in sight, but I had to be close enough to touch!  Even running to the bathroom resulted in hysterics.  I earned the Ben & Jerry's I hit after AB finally fell asleep!

Yes the old "mum I need to be practically sitting on top of you" day. I still get those and my DD is 4 1/2. Well done for surviving. Try and schedule some alone time in the evening, when no-one is allowed to talk to you

Just a heads up from my experience - When one of my sons was like that, he usually came down with a cold or something the next day or two. I hope it was just 'a mood' for yours.

He's had a bit of a runny nose and a slight cough, so I've been keeping an eye on that.  I didn't make the connection between that and the clingy-ness.

My kids usually suffered from a severe case of Mommy-itis when they were getting sick too.
But sometimes, it was just that - Mommy-itis.

How's the boy doing today? Was it the beginning of being sick or was he just being clingy? Hoping for the latter.

He doesn't seem to be coughing much today and I've been able to go to the bathroom without hysterics, so he must have been having one of those days.

Hey, Aard, my son is 16. When he was 4 he was determined to marry me. At 5 falling in love one pretty girl at a time. He has recently confessed to me that in grade 4 or 5 he fooled around with Courteney who has always been a mean girl but was one of the earlier maturers.

In grade 7 he advised me that a grade 6 girl had asked if he were single but he was afraid of being teased by his peers because she was younger. I told him he didn't have to go from being single to being part of a couple overnight - just spend some time with her and see what happens. Then I met her and her mom Sue and dad Rick. They said Taylor was always welcome to have her friends over. Then the parents found out the 2 kids were dating and broke it off. Taylor then dated someone else, told my son she was sorry, did it again and he dumped her. She is still texting him and he's just started Grade 10.

When my lad was about 11 his hands were cold and I lifted my arms up so he could warm them in my oxters. He said, "Mom, that is so wrong on so many levels." When we were in a pharmacy this summer I asked him if he carried you-know. He said, "When I go out to parties, yes, when I walk down the hill to get Subway, no. And it's in my room where you'll never find it." There were no girls in his life when we talked about it last month because they are all whores.

Hope this helps.
