I'm moving into a tent in the back yard...the stinkbugs can have the house!  We've gotten rid of over 100 today, and the damn things are so thin they sneak in every little crevice.  To top it all off, the exterminator never came last week.  He is so on my $h!t list!

Oh Aardvark, that sounds horrible.

I haven't actually seen one of these pests yet, but I've been told they're pretty big. Is there any kind of spray you can use while waiting for the exterminator?

We've been sucking them up in the vacuum, but we're going to try the Dawn dish liquid trick. I've also heard that spraying them with rubbing alcohol gets rid of them, so we shall see.

I feel for you on this issue. We have them here too... and nothing we do keeps them out. It's just a fact of life for us at this point. I'll be glad when "stinkbug season" is over.

We allow our ducks out of their pen and they eat all the bugs

You have my sympathy too! We don't have stink bugs, but the box elder bugs are coming in our house all the time here. My husband sprayed Raid all over the side of the house and the tree trunk and killed hundreds.

Small found a box elder bug (deceased) in her tortoise's tank this morning. She was totally grossed out, as was I

I cannot figure out how the thing got into the tank. We've had a few come into the house but this fellow had to have been very acrobatic.

Yuck!

Can't say that I honestly know what a stink bug or box elder bug looks like. Hope you get the infestation taken care of quickly!

Thanks, MD. Count your blessings that you haven't seen them! (But I do have Frooty's address, so I can pack some up and mail them to you if you'd like).

Box elder bugs look like little roaches but they're red and black.

Fortunately they're not disgusting disease carriers like roaches.  They're just annoying.

They back side of my house was covered in them one year.  *blech!

These are the "stinkbugs" we have a problem with in my area:

brown_stink_bug_adult.jpg

They are just over 1/2 inch long "nose to tail".

If you'd like some EmmDee, I can fed-ex a few dozen to you...
