I have been using Organix shampoo and conditioner for myself and Small and really liked it (especially the mint scented). Easy to find, not too expensive, and worked well for both of us, along with a curl cream for Small to use after shampooing.
But now that the cold weather's here (or maybe just that heat is on indoors) we have both gone all dry and frizzy. Small's hair is in such a tangle she resembles Janis Joplin (if Janis were a third grader).
I'd love some suggestions as to a line that might work for both of us, isn't too costly and won't require a trip to a department store.
It's Beyond the Zone. I got it at Sally's, but I think I've seen their products in the grocery store before.
Nik-Nik wants to cut her hair short, but I'm afraid it will look awful on her. She has a round face and I'm afraid it will end up looking like just a big puffy mess.
Very simple cut, it would be about chin length if her hair didn't curl so tightly. My friend Laura did it yesterday afternoon. She is a barber and a pal, I think most beuticians would not have had the patience to do all the thinning and layering. Redheaded people have thicker hair as a rule and she is unusually thick pelted even for a ginger!
Laura left some longer layers on top and around her face so it doesn't look like a boy cut. We're both happy, but I'm not sure it would be stylish enough for a teen.
