I love, love, love shopping for furniture. A new couch just really makes a room! Congratulations on the new furniture and the new house. Your moving days are over.

I just had a surprizing email. A few weeks ago I applied for a job and didn't hear anything more about it. I work for a medium sized social services agency and a smaller agency in another town has a better position open.

Today a person from that agency sent me a message saying I was advancing to the next level in the selection process along with a list of hypothetical situationional questions to answer. Its almost unbearably exciting.

I'm really sorry to hear that, Renegade. Is there any possibility you can negotiate? I know in Chicago good tenants are so thin on the ground that lots of landlords have been willing to adjust rent to keep them.

I can't imagine anyone would judge or be offended. Financial problems are no fun and lots of folks have them right now. I hope your fortunes improve soon!

I'm not judging either, RTL. With the price of food skyrocketing and electricity going up, a rent increase would really hurt.

I just got a new nephew!

:)

My brother now has three sons born in November. How awesome is that. The oldest is 17 LOL!

It cracks me up that I'm about to be a grandma in a few days and my brother is a brand new dad all over again. His kids are all spread out. He has a 17 year old, an 11 year old, a 5 year old and a new born.

At least he'll have time to save between sending them off to college.

Well it's OFFICIAL!!!! We have some amazing but at the same time shocking news.... I'm expecting :) 6 weeks and counting!!! I know, I am in shock too. I can hardly believe it myself. I wasn't going to post it here but since you are my wonderful friends and some like family I wanted to make it official. I'm too overwhelmed to keep it a secret! Who would have guessed that me of all people would be expecting, but I sure am!!!!!!!!!! We are expecting Santa in just 6 weeks.....
My girlfriend just got me good. Thought I'd share the funny.

OMG you got me! I was prepared to start sending baby stuff because your kids are all older. I was happy you were taking it so well LOL!

Yay for new babies!

My excitement is that my DH and DS 3 months and I went on a shopping spree Sunday. Apparently I should shop w/ a major migraine more often. We needed furniture since we bought a house -- we had moved 8 times in 5 years and so had pared down our furniture to the bare minimum. We got a fridge, couch, kitchen table, a kitchen aid mixer (Merry Christmas to me!!!) and an Apple TV. Everything was on sale much cheaper than we had thought so we were very excited. Now I'll have a table to feed DS at soon and we don't look like an old couple with our 2 recliners in the living room and no other seating!

  Yay for new furniture!

ES that's great news! I hope you get the job and it's everything you hoped it would be.

RTL, I'm sorry you are having such a hard time right now. I agree with Huck, maybe you could talk to them. I wouldn't flame you for posting your problems. That is what we are here for. We may not be the busiest board out there but we are here for each other. Good and bad.

Dqm, congrats on the new DN! They really did spread out their kids!

I haven't been on the boards much. I decided to surprise DH and packed up the kids and drove to Georgia for a week. Driving a bus full of kids 14 hours is interestingaww. We left on the 10th and came back on the 17th. DH was so happy to see us! He was supposed to come home for Thanksgiving the 20th but took off a few days early and drove home with us. He doesn't have to leave until early Sunday morning! We are getting a total of 2 WEEKS together! We haven't seen each other for more than 2 days since the beginning of Sept.

What a cutie, Kali!

I love how he seems to be using chocolate as hair gel in the last picture.

Gma got a picture of him right before bath time in the sink. And then filmed the bath. He was so mad at me because I was the one doing it until the end when he saw Gma filming. Then he started clowning.

I got a new (to me) car Wednesday. 07 Nissan Quest minivan. Traded in old vehicle and man-card; paid off the rest. It's all mine.

Nice, Papa Bear. Isn't is nice not having a car payment but a better vehicle?

On Thanksgiving our two year old grandson gave us a handmade card (well, his mom wrote the words, he drew on it) that said "Happy Thanksgiving" on one side and "I'm Going to be a Big Brother" on the other side! biggrin

It was really cute! Especially when she handed me the card first and I read the Happy Thanksgiving side and put it down on the table and she goes "FLIP IT OVER!" LOL! I really thought that was it.

I don't have any news other than I went 9 days without Internet and it was hell. Also I managed to cook thanksgiving dinner without an oven.

I just got my first Holiday Card of the season and it's from my daughter's new IL's. I'm super excited about it because they chose a photo I gave them for their holiday greetings.

That's so cool!
