So, I haven't really watched the Matrix, so if the role names are bad, blame wikipedia! Also, I added a couple extra roles...they might turn out really badly and the game be lopsided, but I figured with less than 9 people, might as well go for it. If anyone sees something in the setup as being really unbalanced, please PM me as soon as possible. I may make a change before end of day phase today if there is an issue with the current roles/setup. There will be no changes after the end of day phase 1, so either speak up now or don't complain
Roles:
Mafia:
Agent Smith Agent Jones
Townies:
Neo - (chooser) should two people be tied for lynching during the day, Neo will choose which person is lynched. Neo may also choose for neither player to be lynched. Neo may NOT choose to lynch both players Should Neo die, there will be no lynching in the event of a tie.
Oracle - (nurse) predicts who will die at night. If the Oracle predicts correctly, that person is immune from the mafia agents that night. Cannot predict the same death two nights in a row. Should the Oracle die, her powers will pass to another.
DuJour - (creepy girl) Dujour has a stuffed white rabbit. She will *lose* the rabbit on the first night phase (the role says that creepy girl chooses, but with so few people I don't want her accidentally outed). Each night phase thereafter, whoever has the rabbit may choose another living player to give the rabbit to. If the rabbit holder dies while DuJour is still alive, DuJour gets a 'win' along with the winning team. No win if she dies with her rabbit.
Traitor:
Cypher - Cypher only wins the game if the mafia wins. Cypher will not know who the mafia are and mafia will not know who Cypher is. Cypher counts as a townie for game win conditions and does not participate in any mafia discussions.
Once again, no revealing of roles in any way.
eta:
Players: 1. Aardvark 2. Alice 3. OR rainy 4. PB 5. Mischa 6. Moon 7. EmmDee 8. Lady Paint

Also, if you did not receive a pm with a role, please PM me and I will panic. Then I will figure out what role I assigned you and let you know what it was.
We have just over 6 hours to go in this phase and nobody has voted. Guess I'll start it off with RNG since there's nothing else to go on at the moment.
Shouldn't someone get killed first before we vote whom to lynch?
Otherwise, Lynch vote: Mischa
I think you're all just mad at teh Matrix and trying to kill off the evil Matrixy Agents to gain your freedom (seriously, I only watched parts of the Matrix and most of those parts didn't include storyline, just bullets and stuff). But...since I left her out of the roles:
This morning, Tigerlily, aka Trinity, was found dead. Agents Smith & Jones were seen running from the scene of the crime, obviously on their way to procure disguises that would allow them to pass for non-Matrixy-Evil-Agents. Neo, distraught from the death of poor Tigerinity, vows to only break lynching ties when it would benefit the Matrix Heroes/Innocents/Townies/(seriously people, what are they called?) or if he just feels like it. The Oracle joins the gathering crowd and pledges to predict the Evil Agents' target each night (no pressure!) to help her fellow Opressed Matrixians. And finally, creepy girl DuJour runs around in circles, eventually dropping her beloved creepy white stuffed rabbit out of her equally creepy backpack, where someone will eventually find it. Somewhere in the crowd, Cypher laughs...waiting for more death and destruction and Matrixing.
(eh, i like my version better than the movie anyways)
Some of the other players might not know the game has started over here. I can try to pm them on zeta when I get home, but they'll only have an hour or two to vote by that point, so if anyone wants to volunteer to pm them now, feel free to :)
Is it good or bad we killed the traitor? I am confused on the roles this game.
You and me both! The traitor counted as a townie for win conditions (so 2 mafia, 1 townie, 1 traitor would make it even - 2 mafia, 2 townies). However, the traitor only wins with mafia, so they'd be trying to figure out who is mafia so that they don't lynch them and trying to misdirect the innocents. As far as lynching 'townies' goes, the traitor is the best one for townies to lose (from what I understand).
Unless you're the host who wanted to play with new roles that the players decided to kill off so that you can't have any fun - then it's a bad thing
the site i used for the role had less explanation, but here's a similar one if you want to look at it. Since I'm pretty sure I'd use that role again. And a couple more I found if we can get more players. http://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Traitor
Sorry you are dead Mischa, even though you really were on the bad guys side (sort of). That is a very interesting role, tigerlily. Definitely use it again.
My recomendation is to not start over. Not a good precedent.
However, if you do I have recommendations there too!
1. Put to a vote, majority rules. (Again I vote no.) 2. A completely different, *separate* decision by you alone is whether to reinstate Mischa as Cypher. (Maybe decideby coin toss.) Announce merely "Cypher has been assigned to someone" and let that be that.
Is my humble opinion (Said as PB, not as any role.)
