Well, it is for their wedding so I am going to be hopeful they will get some use out of it before that is a possibility. Plus, it is just a set of wine glasses, not a huge deal.
I think 4 is better, too. I don't understand getting 2, unless it's part of her registered pattern where others can add to the collection. Can't do much with two, except display them I guess, or toast each other on your anniversary. Then when one chips or breaks, you've got one.
Right, the only reason I thought of two was because I just made two for a couple but that was to use at their wedding. That is pretty much the reasoning I was using. For the most part we only use two glasses at a time because we don't entertain people at our place but they may. I have not met the husband and haven't seen the wife in probably 5+ years. She was a childhood friend and our families are friends. I wish I knew an image to put on the glasses instead of the monogram but I am not quite sure of a neutral image that would have wide appeal.
Someone gave us pretty Waterford glasses with hearts that are joined with a wedding ring. Again, only two, but I can blend them with my other Waterford glasses at dinner parties.
Is there anything on the invitation - a flower or something - that might give you a way to go? How traditional does the invitation seem? That may give you an idea if they would be upset by a traditional monogram.
I thought about doing linked double hearts but then I wondered if everyone would like that. Not everyone likes heart things. She is a country girl and I know she would like something Texas themed on it. He is from Maryland and only moved to Texas within the last year. I want to make sure to do something that both would like.
winds, pretty traditional wording, I would call the imaging maybe contemporary floral. Maroon which is bride's college color, she is a big fan so I don't think that is coincidental. hmmm, not sure if I get any better of a feel honestly.
