I swear I am going to be full of holes before I am done with these ornaments.  They're easy to make and don't take a lot of time, but man, I'm ready to give up and I'm only on my second one today.  This is why I don't work with hot glue!

I bought the leather fingertip 'cover' they sell to quilters to use when I knit with big needles and bulky yarn. Otherwise I end up with very sore dented fingertips.

Back when I embroidered a lot, I sometimes remembered to use a thimble. Do you ever use one?

I do the same thing when crocheting with thread and teensy hooks.

Thimbles! They're not just for holding your average politician's conscience anymore!

I've never tried using a thimble. Do they come in gloves? I poke myself EVERYWHERE!

Not craft related, but I can't use a veggie shredder without shredding my fingers.
DH has forbidden (sp?) me from using one. Whenever I need to shred something he comes to the rescue lol.

I'm looking for one that has a holder but the ones that I've seen cost more that I'm willing to pay.

Also I second the use of a thimble!

Des, see if you can find a salad shooter! I don't think they are worth full price b/c the motors are not that tough and they wear out pretty fast, but they turnup at thrift stores, etc regularly for $5. Not worth $19.95+ shipping, but totally worth $5.

Or, you could get your DH to shred!

I ask DH to shred things when I really need it, but he doesn't do a really good job (read: I do it different and like it more) so almost never ask him to do it.
