I was going to guess he would come home with one of the two items - and then some random stuff that was on sale. My dad has (weirdly) just recently discovered buy-1-get-1. For years (decades) my mom did 99% of the grocery shopping. He only went when he had a craving. But for some reason he's gotten more "into" grocery shopping in the last few years. His weird standards include:
- It was buy one get one - so I bought 8! (at least pickles don't go bad)
- It was really expensive, so I wanted to see what the fuss was about. (Bacon that's $8 a pound. It is good bacon.)
- I didn't know what it was. So I got some.
- It was sugar free. (He's diabetic.)
PM is really good about getting everything I ask for, but he is attracted to the bright, shiny packages of chips and sugar-free cookies. (Also a diabetic).
