I might go off on a shopping adventure with a friend tomorrow.  There's a specialty bead shop I've been wanting to visit, but I don't want to go by myself.  AB's been getting up at ungodly hours (poor teething kiddo) so Preacher Man is encouraging me to take some time for myself when he doesn't have class or church commitments.

We hope to mow our yard and clean out some of our dungeon--I mean, basement--if the wee ones cooperate. I have to empty my dresser and move my regular clothes back into rotation and the maternity stuff out. Except the regular stuff doesn't quite fit yet. Sigh.

I also have to settle on patterns for winter knitwear and get started on that before it snows.

Plus, DD2 is ready for 3T clothes, so those have to come up from the dungeon and 2T has to go down.

Oh, I love the changing of the wardrobe! /sarcasm. I might be going to pick up a twin bed tomorrow in addition to my shopping adventure.

We are having a barbecue at my parents house tomorrow, and I also have to leave a few things ready to make this week easier on DH.
And on Sunday I'm flying to the states.

We went to San Diego AGAIN today after I got off work this afternoon for DH's physical therapy. Almost done with that. I did a little grocery shopping, and picked up some more jewelry making supplies, so hopefully this weekend I'll be making lots of necklaces to sell in a couple weeks at a women's retreat.

In reality, I'll probably be catching up with laundry and putting the final touches in the office/homeschool room.

Aaaaaaaand it's pouring rain, so outdoor work will have to wait. Our house looks abandoned, the grass is so long and the gardens are so weedy! Grrr.

My dresser and closet: done.
Next (after feeding the baby AGAIN): DD2's clothes.

Way to go, Rare Eye!

One load of laundry on the line for me, the other waiting to go up, 3/4 of the dishes done, and the pantry in the laundry room with all the appliances and tupperware cleaned and reorganized.

Went to work, to my mom's to watch college football. Tomorrow will be laundry, work, home in time for the Colts game. With knitting and house cleaning snuck in there somewhere.

One person should not be allowed so much excitement!

I never made it on a shopping adventure. I helped BFF get Goddaaughter's toddler room organized and super-toddler-proofed.

Ain't no such thing as "toddler proof"... to a determined toddler.

DD2's clothes: done.
Lawn: mowed, front and back, plus my in-laws' front yard (they live next door). Now I smell like grass and gasoline!
I also started knitting a winter hat for DS12wks. It's green wool-ease, just a plain ribbed edge, stockinette top. I may do a short i-cord loop at the top to give it some character.

Bonus: DH got a bunch of junk moved around in the dungeon. Next week we'll have a bunch of scrap-worthy stuff to curb-alert on craigslist. Progress, baby!

True!  But we at least took care of obvious things like doorknob covers, bolting things to the wall (she's a climber), outlet plugs, etc.

That's okay, Des. I got the stuff I needed for AB's party the day before. I eas only going because PM suggested it and my BFF really needed me, not just for the help, but for the talking.

Saw "Turbo" at the dollar theater, made camoflage soap, cooked meat pies and kept the hummingbird feeders full - that's 2 gallons of sugar water over the course of the weekend.

I use a scent called "Sexy Man". It smells similar to Gillette shaving cream, but it's softer and more complex.

I divide the soap batter into 4 bowls and color one bowl black, one bowl brown (using instant coffee), one bowl green and leave the other plain - naturally, the soap is an off-white color. Then I plop the soap in large blobs into the mold. It's really cool looking!

Some soapmakers make a soap that's intended to remove human scent while deer hunting, but IMO there are a lot of good products for that out there that have been scientifically developed and tested. I don't want to whip something up in my kitchen and have somebody rely on it for a deer hunt.

That sounds really neat, Ophelia! Soap making sounds fun, but I think my budget won't stretch to include another hobby!

That soap does sound neat, Ophelia, and a very original treatment. It's not anything I've seen at any of the craft shows I've been to.

I didn't invent it, I saw it online! But i haven't seen any offered at craft shows either. In the free bin at 2nd and Charles I found an old magazine about collectable duck decoys, and I'm going to use those pages to wrap the soap.

Like so many other hobbies, soap making starts off pretty cheap...but then you start wanting different molds and colors and scents and now I need a soap slicer and... :)

Sounds like my jewelry making! I started out just making stretch bracelets. Now I do clasps, earrings, etc. and have a list of things I "need". I also have acquired about 6 reference books that have given me even more ideas!

Now that another weekend is here, I have:

Raked a giant pile of leaves off the deck and driveway
Met with church lady re: DS's baptism (after weeks of runaround)
Um...eaten the rest of my failure cookies. :/

My husband, however:

Removed window AC units and put them into the basement
Cleaned more junk from basement

Still on list:

Rearrange furniture in study
Sew doll dress for DD2's dolly
Reclaim guest room & bring bins of clothes to basement
Buy yet another nook color charger cable
Begin planning Halloween costumes
Finish DS's winter hat

Bravo, RareEyre!

I caught a stomach bug. So I've pretty much spent the weekend either on the couch, in bed, or in the bathroom. Yay me. :/

I need to do laundry. DS is wearing his last clean pair of underwear. He just moved up a size, so I don't have too many on hand.

RareEyre - do you have any tips for making dolls' clothing? Good websites? Books?

I went to the Folsom Street Fair Sunday. Very interesting : )
