I'm making cupcakes for AB's party next week and I want to do them from scratch.  Do you have a tried-and-true recipe for yellow cake and a good frosting?  I'm willing to consider a white cake, too.   Oh, and the frosting will be piped out of a decorator bag/tip and hopefully will look like hair.  (But I'm not much of an artist, so we shall see).

Thanks! I'm familiar with those recipes, too, but I do like to bake from scratch, too. I have a killer recipe for chocolate cake and frosting, but not everyone in my family likes chocolate cake.

I suck at baking from scratch, I also use Richard's recipe :P

Also I can't believe little Aardvark is turning 2 already!!! I remember when you posted that you were pregnant and you were getting tests to see if the baby was ok.

Thanks! I've had so many people ask who the photographer was because they think I had them professionally done. Nope! I just got a lucky shot in our front yard.

I agree with you, HF! Unfortunately, I'll be using Richard's recipe instead of the scratch one. Darn cold put me out of commission today, so I have to do today's work tomorrow and just don't have time for homemade cupcakes with 4 colors of homemade icing.
