Again, I know what the dictionary says. I mean what do you consider it to mean.

To me it means neither side is happy... but they agree to meet "somewhere in the middle" at an agreed upon arrangement that both sides can live with.

To me it's being flexible and identify your needs and wants, being open to negotiate with your wants to get to a place where both parties are in a place to win.

For me a compromise needs to be a win-win situation.
