PC is a craft store chain in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Indiana. It's awesome! They're cheaper than the other stores and while their selection of beads isn't as good as Michael's, their prices are good and I was able to pick up some unique things for my final projects this week.
I was a good girl and only spent $15, but I could have spent more!

I know what you mean, Aardvark. I try to stay away from Michael's for the same reason. I also delete the emails from the online bead and yarn stores when the ads look too enticing. One saving grace for me is that the 'good' yarn stores are 30 minutes away (one in each direction), not near any other stores I frequent, and not open most evenings.
Oh yes, winds! The emails from Fire Mountain Gems and Fusion Beads get deleted right away! I do look if there is something I need for a specific piece, but it's too dangerous to try window shopping!

I have to go to Michael's to look for a couple scrapbook refills. I have a 50% off coupon. Their ad says they have additional % off red and blue tagged stuff. Beads are on sale. Vanna's choice yarn is on sale.
I really, really need to not buy anymore yarn or beads. I'll have to think of something to put me in a 'picky' mood so nothing looks enticing.
Be strong, Winds! If you haven't gone yet - take only a certain amount of cash into the store and no other methods of payment. If you've already gone, how did you do?

Oh, I had no willpower at all. I bought a pendant, some beads, and the scrapbook reill (all on sale), some stitch markers and cable needle, and then for the finale - the newest trendy thing - the Rainbow Loom and a bunch of rubber bands. The loom makes rubber band bracelets - I'm going to make some in team colors for my nieces for Christmas. Because I really needed to add another craft to the list of things I do. (Is it bad that I do eye rolls on myself? :) )
I did good at Target, though - just bought the Halloween candy and one magazine.
I saw a Rainbow loom on sale while I was on the States but I asked myself, what can I do with this really? I like bracelets but I felt that I would look ridiculous with a rubber band bracelet at 32 YO.
Guess what, every time I see one or I hear/read about one I want one :(
I should have bought the thing, I don't rally care about what other people think of me :P

My nieces are in their 30s, too. I'm glad I thought of the 'team color' angle - gave me the excuse I wanted to buy the thing. I'll probably make me a couple - one for football, one for baseball. They'll be good luck bracelets!
Everyone around here is wearing the Rainbow Loom bracelets. Well, I am not, but a ton of adults are. I wear very little jewelry these days.
I am now in "cram" mode. The festival starts on Friday morning and I still have jewelry to finish, plus ornaments. I also have to make some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies for the bake sale portion, oh, and some pies for the concession stand.

I'm starting to feel that way as well, I have a baby shower that I said I was going to make the favors and I have LO baptism/1st birthday and i'm doing everything for that (table centers, decorations, favors, snack table).
This year my parents are going to the beach for the holidays and we are going to spend either Christmas or New Year with the in laws (DH hasn't decided yet) so I won't be doing that much for the holidays. Thank God! I've my plate more than full with Sofi's party!
Ugh, I don't want to think about Christmas, as I have failed in my plans to make a skinny scarf for our tree. I wanted to use it instead of tinsel this year. I'm just going to start scouting the sales in January.
That is a pretty yarn. You could use two or three strands and finger-knitting (basically a big chain stitch) for this year then unravel it and do the skinny scarf next year.
