I heard on the TV news this morning that January 6 (or the first Monday after the New Year) is generally considered the Most Depressing Day of the Year. It's funny, because this morning, went the alarm went off, I was feeling more down than usual on a Monday morning and couldn't wait to have that first cup of coffee to perk me up.
Do any of you feel more depressed today than normal?
Mmmmmmm not for me, I was excited because today is the three wizards day here and the kids get toys and candy (pretty much like santa claus but these are the three wizards :P)

I was thinking that, as well. It's Three Kings Day and that's a day of celebration. My mother always used to say that is the "real" Christmas because that was the day the Baby Jesus actually got his presents (of course, I think if was my mother who wanted to put off giving us all our gifts on Christmas so she could take advantage of the after-Christmas sales)
The story I saw said a lot of it was because for many people it's the first day back to work after the holidays. Between that, the end of college football season, the end of Super Bowl dreams for most teams, and no paid holidays until Memorial Day, I can see why many people would be down today.
I was back to work the day after Christmas, so it's really just another day to me.
When I worked for an accounting firm, the first Monday after New Year's was pretty sucky, but that's because I knew our busy season was starting, I had a zillion things to do, and I had to start working Saturdays with no time off until after April 15th.

Today is my first day at work after a 2 week staycation.
I missed work (go figure) but now I miss my LO, we had a great bonding time and I really want her to play with her present :P
On the plus side I had some Rosca de Reyes and it was yummy, later we'll have some more at my mom's house.

I learned more about this study on the news this evening. It's based on tweets. Instead of 'most depressing' maybe they should have declared it 'most whined about'. It's tough for me to take anything based on tweets too seriously.
Wait... this is based on TWEETS???? Gimme a break. I agree with you, winds... shouldn't be "most depressing" (unless you depress keys on your blackberry to send the tweets!)... should be "most whined about".
Good call!

What is Rosca de Reyes? Is it a dessert?
Sorry about the late response, work got in the way...
So Rosca de Reyes is a bread that we eat on Jan 6th to celebrate the coming of the 3 king wizards, this thing has plastic babies inside and is you get one, you have to offer a meal on Feb 2nd, but it must be tamales.

I've had some that are really good, and then some that are just plain yucky lol, especially the ones that you get from supermarkets are pretty bad.
The ones you get from costco or sams are pretty decent, but the really good ones are from the bakeries yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum.
