Please be careful when you close your car door, keep your fingers out of the way!

Even if you remember you had to do something else before closing the door and try to stop it from closing, it will not end well, also if your finger is trapped between the door and the car body don't try to pull your hand to get your finger out of there, open the door then scream.

I'm talking from experience!

End of the announcement.

Yeah I'm finding out how hard would it be to live without a right thumb.

It was kinda funny, because I usually cry when I get hurt, but this time I just didn't I was so mad at myself that I forgot to cry lol.

Oh ouch. I did that to my DD when she was little but just caught tip of finger and she pulled finger out. I was more traumatized!

Hope your thumb feels better

Thanks!
I managed not to swear because I was surrounded by my parents and LO was right in front of me, so I just couldn't do it.

I always feel terrible when I hurt LO! I hope I never do something like this to her.

My mom did it to me and trust me, that was the least of the issues I had with her.  Teenagehood will bring you more issues than causing bleeding, lol.wink

Believe I know all about that! I can't remember if my mom ever hurt me unintentionally.

The teenage years I do remember very well!

Yikes! My only car door was experience, I was in middle school and mom just bought a new to us mini van. I was in the front seat grabbing for the seat belt as my brother was closing the sliding back door. Somehow I managed to get fingers, yes multiple, in the door's way as he closed it. I'm just sitting saying nonsense because it hurt so bad and trying to get him to open the door. It was major ouchies.

That sounds painful! I will keep that in mind for all future door openings and closings.

That is so painful. I hope your hand feels better in a few days. Car door accidents must happen a lot.

One day when I was in 7th grade, my dad let me and a friend out in front of the school. My friend closed her hand in the door and my dad started to drive away. We were both trotting along side the car. She was crying and I was banging on the window yelling "Dad Stop! Dad Stop!" When he did we quickly opened and closed the door, then he went on to work thinking that we just left a purse or book in the car.

Oh wooow lots of ouchies related to car doors.

Thank you guys for the good wishes! My thumb is doing just fine now! Just a little sore, but I can use it already.
Yesterday a hair tie snapped when I was putting my hair up before bed and guess where it snapped? That hurt like hell!

I think I'm a klutz...

No more complicated activities (like walking and chewing gum, at the same time) for you young lady!
