A two-year-old was hurt after razor blades were placed on playground equipment at Millennium Park in East Moline.
A police department spokesman said police found several razor blades glued to various pieces of equipment at the park, at 5101 Archer Drive, just before 1 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2014.
“Officers collected the razor blades and other evidence,” according to a statement from East Moline Police Captain John Reynolds.
Reynolds said a two-year-old child was injured. The child’s mother says he will be okay.

There's a video on the website, which I presume is the same one they ran on the Pittsburgh news last night. When they showed our newscasters, the one had the same WTF look on his face as I did, and said exactly what I was thinking, "Who does that sort of thing?"
Seriously! What kind of sick **** goes around doing this?

There are some really, really sick, perverted, twisted people out there. I wonder if there are any video cameras that might have caught the culprit(s). If some kind of reward is offered, I'll bet people will come crawling out of the woodwork. People who are this sick, usually love to brag about their exploits and someone would gladly turn them in for a reward.
I saw this and shared it on my facebook page. This won't stop us from playing on playgrounds regularly but it is something to look out for and tell your kids to be aware of as well. Its sick that someone would do this.
With all the publicity, I hope we don't start seeing "copycat" crimes at other playgrounds. I hope everyone is vigilent about their local playgrounds and keep an eye out for any copycatters.
That is sickening. I just can not imagine having the mindset to do something like this. It makes me cringe. I hope there is some way to find the horrible person.
The noon news reported that razor blades were found duct-taped to playground equipment near Philadelphia. No one was hurt, but police feel it's a copycat crime.

BROOKHAVEN, Pa., (CBS) – Police are warning parents to check playground equipment before they let their kids play.
Brookhaven Townwatch President Jim DeProphetis is baffled by who would be heartless enough to try and hurt little kids who just wanted to play.
“Person or person involved would have to be sick. I mean little kids play here. There’s no call for it,” he said.
Brookhaven Police indicate someone duct taped razor blades to playground equipment at Eaton Park.
The razor blades were first discovered Tuesday by a borough maintenance manager who contacted police.
Neighbors and parents who bring their kids here to the park on west Maple Avenue are stunned.
“I understand it’s April Fool’s Day but this is not a joke. It’s not funny,” neighbor Bob Kilman said.
Details released by Brookhaven Police are limited, but the department did send out a safety alert on its Facebook page which reads in part:
“All the parks have been checked as of 4/1/2014 and are clear. This is an active investigation, and parks will be checked by both patrol officers as well as plain clothes officers on every shift.”
DeProphetis added townwatch patrols will also be checking parks looking to see if anyone tapes razor blades to equipment.
Police are calling this an isolated incident.
No one was injured.
Anyone with information is urged to contact Brookhaven Police at [redacted].
