My mom is attempting to make a wreath out of flip flops that has shark bite marks on the flip flops for a birthday party. Hoping it will turn out okay.
Here is what I want it to look like http://www.pinterest.com/pin/137711701078223656/
I see guys (generally younger guys, though) wearing bracelets like the one above, but not in pink. Maybe make some with brown, black or blue twine, or with leather.
Maybe don't use the dangly angel charm. In my experience, guys will wear bracelets with beads, but not dangly charms.
My cousin is getting married in June, and for her bridal shower she gave out little jars of honey. I used the honey and made her soap this weekend with that honey, beeswax and an absolutely DELICIOUS honey fragrance oil.
I have a jewelry project coming up soon. Someone from church asked me if I could take a choker and turn it into a bracelet or two. She said she hates chokers, but her mother gave it to her fifty years ago, so she thought if I made it into bracelets, she'd actually get some use out of it and she could give one to her granddaughter.

I finally dragged out my grandmother's sewing machine! My grandfather gave it to me last fall after Grandma died, along with a little set of plastic drawers, a thread container, and a plastic shoebox full of stuff. I've been meaning to go through it all and get set up, but I wanted to do it when I knew I'd have lots of time. There are all kinds of treasures in the boxes - different presser feet, a little pair of embroidery scissors, a vicious-looking seam ripper. Best of all, my grandma's tomato pin cushion. I remember it sitting in the kitchen or on her end table when she was working on a project. I can't use it, as I almost cried when I pulled it out of the box, but it will sit out while I'm sewing and using my own (purple) tomato cushion.
So far, the machine seems to be in working order. I've made one whole bean bag for VBS. 19 more to go!

I also have a new craft idea I saw. We have a ton of leftover gems from the garden stepping stone project so we can use them to make these light catchers for windows. Maybe a Christmas gift for the grandparents.
I forgot to take a picture and I'm too tired and lazy to go upstairs and do it, but I finished 20 bean bags yesterday for VBS activities. They were a hit with the kids and only one ended up needing repaired. One of the seams split, but considering it was pretty cheap fabric, I'm happy it was only one bag.
After VBS is over, I'm going to get serious with some jewelry work. I bought some very pretty beads for bracelets and a necklace and I want to wear them. I can't do that until I make them.

I'm crocheting a blanket for my friends' little girl. She's arriving on 9/29 via c-section, so I have 25 more days to work on it. I'm doing a half-double crochet, 5 rows of spring green, 3 rows of lavender, then repeat.
Once that is done, I'm going to make a set of sapphire-colored bracelets for the mommy-to-be, and a personalized mug for the daddy-to-be.

I have to find out if I need to start on a baby blanket. I'll be decorating a couple mini Christmas trees for a library fundraiser - I'm thinking of making one a 'yarn special' with knitted garland and ornaments.
I bought some little hair barrettes for my DGodD. I'm going to glue sparkly little holly sprigs on them for Christmas. I love buying hair stuff for her! I might make a personalized holder for one of her Christmas gifts.
I need to sit down and finish my blanket in the next couple days, since my friend's baby will be here on Monday.
I also made bracelets as thank you gifts for AB's therapists. He's moving up to the next level, so I wanted to do something. I didn't get pictures, because my camera batteries were dead (including the ones in the charger, harrupmh!) One was purple cubes accented with silver bicones, another has multifaceted ruby-colored glass beads accented with stamped silver discs, and the third was round black discs interspersed with silver disks. They came out well.

Current projects are painting wooden fish and teddy bears to make stick puppets for AB, 2 wreaths for our double front door, a wreath of sparkly snowflakes for the wall, and I'm bejeweling more sparkly snowflakes to hang in our front windows to catch the sunrise.

DH and I made those wooden candle holders for tea lights I shared earlier. Will post pictures when all done. I have some evergreen tea lights and some LED ones to enclose with my gifts... and some pretty colored citronella ones for next summer~
I also found some cute little tiny ornaments about the size of a nickel and they are red with a Santa belt or snow flake I think I will put little pieces of magnet on back and give away as fridge magnets.

Thanks, Aardvark. I didn't do the literary-themed tree. My idea was "A Visit from St Nick" but I couldn't find a fireplace or sleeping mouse ornament. I figure I have a whole year to work on perfecting the idea, though.
I made these to hang in the windows, but they didn't show up very well, so I guess I'll put them on the tree next year. I also made some to give to AB's preschool and Sunday school teachers.
