So a neighbor gave me one of those large paper bags from the grocery store filled to the brim with beautiful broccoli. What should I make? Is there something I could freeze?

You could make... ummm... Broccoli!

(I love Broccoli.... I used to get big "family size" bags of florets and just nuke a bowl full of them for lunch at work... and that would be my entire meal. Just broccoli.)

On a more serious note...

How about (not sure what to call it, but we have it on a regular basis) Pasta Salad(?): Broccoli, diced chicken, Egg Noodles (cooked in salted water), and olive oil... with a few herbs and things mixed in to the "salad"

I love broccoli!!!
And I love Aard's Ideas :D

Sometimes I take the broccoli, steam it and them add lemon juice and salt. Yummy!

Do you have to do anything to it before you freeze it? My experiment with freezing nectarines was a big failure.

My friend made this* and raved about it. I haven't tried it (yet) but I trust her judgement.

I mix mine with some Parm cheese, some olive oil, and a little bit of Dijon mustard and a little salt, then bake in the oven at 350 for about 30 minutes.

Also, A Veggie Venture has an AMAZING broccoli cheese potato soup recipe.

This recipe was very VERY good. The best chicken broccoli casserole I have EVER made.

So, what did you end up doing with all that broccoli?

jl - nothing I made came out that well but based on recent posts on this thread I now have some more ideas in case of future broccoli abundance.

Hole-ie, funny enough that's one of the recipes I tried. I was not terribly excited.

What about trying a chicken and broccoli similar to what you get at Chinese restaurants?
