We stopped at Wendy's last night on our way home from Pittsburgh. The wait was longer than it should have been and I was chitchatting with the woman ahead of me, as she didn't know what she wanted. Finally, the line started moving and as the undecided lady placed her order, her companion asked me if I knew what I was getting.
Since we'd just been discussing it, I figured she was just being pleasant. No. Oh no, she wasn't. She proceeded to tell me she was a vegan (and only eats meat every once in awhile) and something about stopping medication and dropping 30 pounds. In the midst of this, she tells me that I should order a side salad, since I was getting a bacon cheeseburger and I should never drink diet. I should also move more, because she could see that I needed to lose weight.
My face went from being wary to "THE ****!?!" She has seen this look before, because she immediately said, "I'm not trying to insult you blahblahblah, I just want to encourage you because you're beautiful yaddayadda." She asked for my name, which I brushed off and flat out asked her what she was selling. I figured it was Shakeology or Thrive, or possibly even Mary Kay. She wasn't selling anything, just wanted to help me.
Well, thanks, random lady. It's a good thing you were there to tell me I'm overweight. I had no idea.
I actually feel kind of sorry for her, because it was apparent she had a lack of social skills (standing way too close, telling strangers they're fat), but she mentioned her own weight a few times, so I figure she's got plenty of her own body issues. She is correct, in that I *do* need to lose weight, you can make smarter choices, even at fast food places, and that encouraging others does help, but she is completely off in her actions.

Wow - she's lucky she ran into you and not me. I feel sorry for her friend; she probably gets the food critique every time they go out. "Apparently we have different definitions of vegan and what's insulting" would be my mildest response.
